Hey there,
I feel a proper introduction is in order. My name is James Augustine. I recently graduated from Keystone College in La Plume, PA for a BA in Visual Arts, concentration Graphic Design. I have been drawing since I was in 7th grade, and have been teaching myself card tricks since then. I recently finished illustrations and gesture designs started in January 2013 for my since unfunded deck project "Pelted Primacy." I launched the original project on Kickstarter with the help of a friend (who had typed up quotes from a Hong Kong-based printing service rather than United States Playing Card Company quotes) which led to a 2-day shutdown. The second run had the kinks worked out, but overall mostly everyone who pledged for it did so because of the niche of society that the designs appealed to. Many card collectors out there were unimpressed and, from what I saw, were pretty blunt about their dislike of it.
Basically, I would like to restart this project with INTENSE remodeling to both card layout and forms of advertising. I want to offer a more rich set of illustrations, and I would like to submit some ideas to this forum before making the project live again. So with that said, here is the current layout of the cards:
And now for the new back WIP: Any constructive criticism would be appreciated. Oh, and I understand I am no major name in the custom card industry, and that many of you will probably not even care to read this. But I wouldn't count me out just because you don't know me well enough yet.
