Jackson timed it at 18 minutes, 42 seconds. It's gotta be a record for a playing card KS campaign.
Congratulations Jackson!

Very impressive, but also very much deserved. Jackson, you've really set the bar for everyone else, even the big name companies.

Great Job Jackson, and congratulations!
Wish I could get in on the limited reserve note, but can't afford. LOVE this project, beautiful decks that will make an amazing set when all complete and in hand

Wow. That went quickly. It took me about 30 seconds to figure out which pledge level I wanted (2x LE) and by the time I clicked there were already nearly 20 pledges in...
Congratulations, Jackson. This continued success is well deserved.

Wow, beautiful looking cards. This is the second deck I have backed since I gave myself a lifetime ban on KS. These are just too nice to pass on. I would have liked one of those black decks but I shall be happy with what I get. I didn't even realize these were going to be released today until I checked out this thread. Congrats to the designer, I am sure you put a lot of time into the artwork on these decks.

backed for 10 decks here 2 of each including black
It makes each deck at a price of $17 so not too bad I guess

OK, so a Kicktraq "trend" is not a prediction, but just for kicks... this project is currently trending to hit $1.5 Million.
IRL, this thing is already past 200%. congrats Jackson!
@Jackson: I'm wondering; how did you decide what to charge for your LE decks?

Am I the only one that's annoyed by ridiculously priced "Limited Edition" Black box deck? I am assuming the actual deck is the same as the regular Reserve Note deck, since there's only pictures of the box.

Hey Jackson,
What are the odds of getting a pic that shows all 4 Bicycle decks together? (the 2 from the last campaign, and the 2 from this campaign)
I'd love to see all 4 together
Jay

Right, they're buying them for the hell of it without seeing the whole deck since it's unlimited though I bet they'll look great. To pay $40 for a deck, they better glow in the dark or shuffle by itself.

I'm annoyed beyond all belief. I expected a $15 or maybe $20, but it is not worth $28 for a black box he can keep them. The LE Reserve Deck will be the same cards as far as I know or he will be paying for 1500 decks he is not having made.

10000000% Agree.
The sheeple on KS are literally paying $40 for a black tuck box. Nowhere does it say that the actual cards are any different. Jackson is both a brilliant designer and a greedy business man. Reading the KS comments is both hilarious and disheartening. I fear for the future of mankind.

That's a good way to look at it, badpete. Takes the sting off the LE price tag if only mentally. I went in on the black deck and will add on from there. They were going scary fast.

Hey Widdee
Yeah the regular decks are $12....Now by buying 2 of each you kind of only raise the average per deck by $5 each and you can say that each black deck cost you $17. And like you are saying maybe I am trying to convince myself that spending $171 on these decks was ok....

Hey, it's our money, lol. Seriously, I've paid forty bucks for a collectible deck before, did it on the black deck, and will do it again. On the other hand I've sniped white Monarchs for 20 bucks and other rare decks the same so it all comes out in the wash.

Did Jackson ever disclose what features the tuck box for his first 2 decks will have? Embossing? Foil? Anything? I'll be extremely disappointed if they're just printed with no special features, especially at the prices he charged per deck and the amount he raised in total.

well I say it's the best designed deck I have ever seen (or will own) and personally I believe Jackson worked hard on it and he deserves to make his living from his artwork. I've been spoiled with fancy tuck boxes and foil this and foil that - it's time my money paid for the sweat of the artist for a change.

I didn't think the black box fit the theme of the other decks anyway. And when I saw the pledge levels at $40 and $44 containing 1 LE Black box and 4 regular decks respectively, I instantly knew I wasn't getting it.

There's no doubt Jackson's decks are one of the best designed decks, right up there with the Seasons decks and Uusi decks, and of course the artists need to be paid for their work. But that doesn't mean fancy tuck boxes shouldn't be utilized as well. If you put out a beautifully designed deck, why not complete the package with an equally beautiful tuck box with embossing and foiling?
If you're going to ask for $15 a deck (like Jackson did in his first campaign), I would expect to see a tuck box at least close to T11 standards, and even T11 decks only run about $6-$7 per deck. I know, I know, you're going to say T11 is a much bigger company with better economies of scale based upon the volume of decks they can produce so it's not a fair comparison. So let me make a more applicable comparison: Mike and Randy produced the UC deck charging only a third of the original Fed52 deck ($4.95 for forum members) and the tuck box was ridiculously awesome with embossing and foil on the outside AND inside! If you can make a deck with an awesome tuck box for $4.95, then surely you can do so at over triple that price.
Its all about adding extra value to your product. Plus, its not like Jackson barely got funded so there was only a tiny margin for profit - he asked for $7,990.00 as his funding goal and the man raised almost $150,000.00. Don't set the bar low for these designers, ask for the complete package.

I'm pretty sure the black edition will be nicely embossed, foiled etc. Jackson is a great designer and is not going to put out a special edition that is lackluster and boring. As to the price, don't buy it of its not worth it to you. I, personally, think its awesome. I want one.
