Octopus tarot and playing cards
I saw these and wanted to point them out. I did not realize, even though it is in the title, that this had playing cards as well. I love the art on these decks. While I won't be pledging for the tarot deck, the playing card deck looks really nice. So, here is a link!

Re: Octopus tarot and playing cards
its an art deck for me, so i don't really care about printer or handling. shipping is a bit high for my liking but it is what it is.

Re: Octopus tarot and playing cards
Just had a second check and I see the 50k goal is gold playing cards and “a special surprise for card collectors”
So she is already getting all the bad habits

Re: Octopus tarot and playing cards
yeah, i wish creators would just list everything from the get go instead of surprise additions. i have done so many kickstarters over the year and usually have multiple pledged for at once. i get so many notifications and updates that i usually don't bother reading them and miss out on mid campaign stuff. is that my fault? yes, definitely. even if the stretch goal is locked, just let us know what it will be.

Re: Octopus tarot and playing cards
Might be a strech, but I think the reason why strech goals and alike are barely revealed prior is because 95% of campaigns just pull them out there arse if they reach a goal. At the end of the day 99% are the usual stuff anyways - cheap gimmiks and boring features (numbered seal, gilding, ... ).

Re: Octopus tarot and playing cards
This one be already set it at 50k though.
So it’s not a delayed release hidden behind at minimum 2 sets of the normal deck type of deal.
She did just post an update saying this though:
It has been brought to my attention that there are specific manufacturers you are after! Silly me, I had no idea!
I am in the process of quoting the project with Cartamundi and LPCC, and I am finding out if either of them are able to do the holographic components.
Buyer beware I guess. Well funder anyway

Re: Octopus tarot and playing cards
She is new to this but i like the art enough to take a risk on them. Even if she still goes with an unknown printer with mediocre handling, idc. if she upgrades the printer then bonus.

Re: Octopus tarot and playing cards
BTW, she says she mistakenly priced the poker deck at the start of the campaign at CA$ 25 when it should have been CA$ 20 (~US$ 17). Not sure if that changes anyone's decision on whether to support the campaign.
I have no problem supporting the campaign. Even though she is new to all of it, I appreciate her transparency.

Re: Octopus tarot and playing cards
Although there is this caveat:This is the update I know all my collectors have been waiting for.
I have finally heard back and received approval for printing the Playing Cards with an alternate printer.
I'm excited to announce I'll be printing with Legends PCC!
I'm in now because of the printer change.I may have to opt-out on the holographic stamping on the FRONT of the cards for now, this can be added back on once we hit $60K on the campaign (which I'm confident we will at this point).

Re: Octopus tarot and playing cards
yeah, i am mixed on the printer change. i dont care about handling for the most part. now the card back is going to be full foil. i would rather only part of the design have the foil like it is shown. she wasnt clear if full foil mean that the whole back is foil with the black ink being printed over the top or if it means the full design is stamped on a black background. either way i would rather the the entire back or design not be foil. it needs contrast.
also, if the 60k mark is not reached, sitting around 47k now i think, there will not be foil on the fronts. if there is not foil on the front as shown the deck loses quite a bit of appeal for me. still love the art though. i did get an early bird which was like $13 so just having foil on the back and tuck is a good deal at that price.

It wasn’t going to terrible. Lots of communication. Things happening.
But now the easyship drama. Good lord. People being charged 50 bucks to move a single deck.
