Not always, but I'm lazy so it's easier with all these terrible deck projects

Hi everyone,

I am the creator of this project. I found this post while looking through my site's referral analytics. I see that you all didn't really think that my Kickstarter project was very good, which is fine you can think what ever you want. But I feel you misunderstood what the project is all about, that could possibly be because of how I worded the project.

My project is more about creating one photo every week for the next year, than the actual deck of cards. There are 52 weeks in a year, and also 52 cards in a deck (minus the jokers). So I came up with the idea to create a custom deck of cards with each image on the face of the card. The whole reason I created the deck was as a reward to give out to the backers.

I appreciate the criticism because now I know that I didn't get my idea across as well as I meant to.

I don't think the idea is an issue, expecting people to shell out $52 for a deck of cards and then wait over a year to get it, is a little insane don't you think? I also think it is a little arrogant thinking that it is a "Reward", like a treat you would give a dog for doing something special. What exactly would the reward before? People who feel like giving you money for no particular reason?

Thanks!

Kickstarter is about trying to get crowd funding for a project you feel passionate about. If I sold the decks for less then I wouldn't be raising any money at all. I call it a reward because that's what kickstarter calls them. I know it's more like a donation to an artist. Yes there are only 7 backers which is not as successful as I was hoping, but I feel that it's because I'm young and don't have a big name for myself in the art community.
Also the reason why it will take a year to deliver is because it will take a year to create the images to be used in the deck...

I think the issue (for lack of a better term) here is that this is more of an art project than a playing card project, so I wouldn't count on deck collectors to be a big part of your backers.
