Considering there were only 12 of this version (which wasn’t available for purchase but given to mods and for contest winners) and the “base” edition was only 200 available and those were $!00ea shipped, it’s one of the most rare Lotrek decks out there and I can see this as somewhere north of $500 value and wouldn’t be surprised to see it go for $1000+ at auction, but that’s just my thinking based on the desirability of Lotrek as an artist and resale value of other decks of his.
Just an opinion.

Are there any differences between the private reserve and the base decks, aside from having a different number set?

I was interested as well. I didn't see anything in a quick review of the original Kickstarter. However, I was able to find in Portfolio52 a listing for a Venexiana Gold United Cardists Primier Elite, which I am certain this deck is a part of as it was limited to 12 decks of the Venexiana Gold. Here is the description in Portfolio 52:
"212 decks were produced. 200 were made available to anyone to purchase and were numbered 1 - 200. 12 decks were gifted to United Cardist moderators and competition winners. There were labelled \\\"UCPE\\\"" and numbered 1-12"
Based on the description, I am nearly positive it is the same deck, just a special packaging and numbering. As to whether this is something you would want in addition to your "standard" Venexiana Gold deck, is up to you. I am in a similar boat. I have the Venexiana Gold, but not the Private Reserve or United Cardists Primier Elite (or however you want to call this 12 deck issue).
I understand the deck has sold, so your interest at this point for this deck is somewhat academic.

Thanks. I had seen the information on portfoilio52 in the past and my conclusion was the same as you, unless that information was missing anything.
It is a relief the deck was sold, which takes the decision out of my hands. Putting this on eBay would likely have generated a lot more interest and return.

I was lucky enough to score one when I was a mod here and would be wrong of me to sell it IMO.

The longer I collect, the more I am attracted to these types of original beauties.
Artwork was original (not rehashed), the “Big Boys” of the craft were still earning their reputations, subtlety and originality were revered and creators were just starting to push their technical experimentations across new frontiers.
This is what I yearn for card collecting to return to, a wish I will never achieve.

I have both and the main differences I can find between the two are the material used for the outside band is different (one is textured, one is not) and they were signed in a different pen by Lotrek. And of course different numbering.
