Went to place an order last night. Stupidly high shipping costs for International. AoP gets no business from me.

Steve from woundedcorner.com sells them as well (for $12.00 though) maybe that's the better route for international customers. I didn't bother to check nor did I order from him before so maybe shipping is still shite, haha.

Would be damn hard to be worse than AoP ($90+ for 8 decks)

Even US shipping is $12. I think they're only sending tracked/insured/whatever.

Emailed them and it's either UPS or FedEx, both of which are not only the most expensive to where I live, but they also insist on paying customs for you and then billing you before you can get your stuff AND they charge a service fee of £9 on top. It's insane.

Meanwhile in EU: paying $26 for shipping two decks from KWP. :)

lol the Americans don't know how good they've got it. $7 is unheard of internationally. I'm in Canada and I pay almost as bad as EU. I paid $22 for 3 decks on my last order. Add to that the 0.64 EUR = 1 CAD and I'd wager the Great White North has the worst of it.

But yeah, utterly uninterested in this deck.

I purchased 16 decks and three uncut sheets from AoP on Black Friday and the shipping came to $17.23. I thought that was bad until I’m hearing what non-Americans have to pay. Yikes!

I bought two of these as soon as I saw them on the AoP site. I love the colors on the tuck and the theme just makes me nostalgic for the old Smokey commercials during Saturday morning cartoons.

Yes I do. I've said it on many occasions- if I lived abroad I would not collect playing cards. I commend you international collectors because I could never do it!
But that also doesn't mean I should pay D$D's high shipping rates out of sympathy when all other US based companies charge much less.

+1 Took the words right out of my mouth.

To me, it seems like the high shipping fees from D&D are how they recoup their losses from the discounts that they provide during their sales :?

You of course could and would collect cards. You'd just have to be more picky. ;)
Also, from time to time there's free shipping available. I've just ordered 2 bricks of Keepers from E! with free shipping.
Also, Penguin has free shipping over $50 - good place to buy cards from when from EU.
Also, Kickstarter campaigns usually have their shipping more reasonable, sometimes more so, if there's an EU-friendly shipping when printing at Cartamundi.
Also, if you know there's $26 shipping for 2 decks from KWP you should buy 7 decks because shipping will still be $26 before jumping higher.
Also, you can always buy from Vanishing magic of JPGames Ltd from UK.

Well, frankly, you would build your strategies to collect cards. :)

Yes, you buy more quantities at once, more from resellers and try to be more picky. I brought tonnes from Bombmagics Black Friday sale because even though shipping was $70 the decks were 70% off!

This. I don't know if it's in my nature, or the high shipping costs, or any number of reasons I can conjure, but I've become real picky over the years. I've been collecting for a little over 2 years now and I loathe some of the older decks in my possession lol.

Oh I so know what you're talking about. :D I've just recently created several boxes of cards I don't want anymore. I will try to sell them eventually but I'm so lazy to process that. Now I buy with much more caution and only cards that really speak to my taste. But it makes sense, it takes time to develop a taste. :)

So you got that box in the closet as well, haha.

Some of the scaned cards have a weird line on them. That's just the scans though, innit?

Ya, its the scanner. The cards dont have those lines. I have ordered another one so the next batch shouldnt have them. plus side: good watermark!

The word "scanner" looks a little too similar to the word "scammer" , which changes the meaning just a little :)

Art of Play does end up selling most of their decks via other online retailers of playing cards, don't they? Or was this available exclusively from AoP's website and nowhere else?

It's available everywhere. Just few decks are AoP exclusive (e.g. the limited edition tuck swap was).

I think it depends on the deck, ill check me sheet when I get home to see where I got them at. I know PCD has some AoP decks and Dan and Dave also run Black Market Decks. So some of their limited stuff is on there as well
