I saw this posted on Reddit earlier today. I thought I would share my thoughts here as well:
I have a few decks that would be impossible for gameplay, whether it be a Faro deck or a transformation deck. However, they are amazing pieces of art, so I get to enjoy them in a different way. This project makes the cards unplayable (or, at least require some mental calibration) and there is no artistic value to me without court card illustrations. It's a novel idea but a hard pass for me. Is this layout from 1-13 ideal for magic? I'm not sure I understand the purpose. This quote was a real eyebrow-raiser for me:
Lucky 13 wrote:Cardistry will forever change with this new eye catching and streamlined design.
Will it, though?

You've got it all wrong. Clearly this is a gaff deck.

Custom without the art. Cool.

"Conventional "aces" and "court cards" have been replaced with numerical values offering a brand new playing card experience never before seen! Lucky 13's custom face cards feature values 1-13... Aces are now 1's, Jacks are 11, Queens are 12 and Kings are 13."

Kind of feel like any description with that many exclamation points is clearly trying to compensate for a lack of effort elsewhere. Could just be me though.

Offering a brand new playing card experience
Well... so brand new that you'll find antique decks with 11, 12 & 13 cards? *raises eyebrow*

Someone had to throw some extra because for decks itself it's only $3,474 and I doubt the rest is shipping.

Congratulations to them. Some folks are all smiles and going to be enjoying this deck.
