Forgive me, not sure how to get more pics posted. This is for you Hanafuda fans. Very different approach to the cards, but I like it, and printed with USPCC.

You can direct link/embed KS images; it's just a bit counterintuitive. Open the image in a new tab, copy the URL and bracket it in [img] tags like you normally would, but use the URL exactly as it appears; resist the urge to clean up all the oogly-lookin' bits after .png. If you take 'em all out the image won't come through because o̶c̶c̶u̶l̶t̶ ̶t̶e̶c̶h̶n̶o̶m̶a̶n̶c̶y̶ reasons.











How clever to use mōn for the indices! It's the kind of thing that seems head-slappingly obvious once you see somebody else think of it. The back's nothing to write home about, but it's perfectly serviceable - and considering traditional hanafuda have no back designs at all, anything above "unsightly" is enough to tie the game up. Bright colors, clean lines, simple imagery... if your design goal is a "junior" hanafuda deck that's approachable for beginning players of any language background, I'm not sure how you could improve upon this. (And if your design goal is "UNO, but make it fashion," well, it ain't half bad.)

I will say the pricing - USD $21 for one deck shipped to the continental US - is gonna be a hard pass for a lot of folks here. That paulownia wood box at the complete tier does look pretty sweet, but I don't know yet if I think it's "USD $75 shipped" sweet.

Yeah, it's a bit pricey, but I expect to pay a premium for Hanafuda anyway, since it's more of a boutique item. I'm in for the pair for $37 shipped. I'm willing to pay $18.50 a deck to support this designer.

It looks nice, but I'm gonna have to pass, because I have no clue how to play lol.
