Hi all --
Hello from Atlanta, GA. I always like playing card games and was always disappointing with the quality of cards I used to play with. I wondered if there were better quality of cards out there that I could get my hands on. For whatever reason never thought of looking in to playing cards until literally a month ago I found my else on this beautiful world of playing card! I was and still am amazed with the amount of wonderful playing cards available out there and now I have this whole new excitement which is so accelerating and adrenaline inducing! I came across the rRddit community and then this forum which totally enhanced my knowledge of this playing card world. This forum has helped me a lot in assisting me to find out what style and type of playing cards I like. I am not a cardists or a magician. Just a guy that likes playing cards and now collect cards
With the time I spent here, I found out I like cards by Jackson Robinson, Stockholm17, Lotrek, Jocu, and few more that I can remember to list. I have already placed my first order of cards from Kings Wild Project and took the advantage of the free shipping with $50 or more! Already backed 4 Kickstarter campaigns (Jocu ONDA, Chris Hayes Wonder deck, and couple more). I'm sure this is going to be an expensive hobby and I don't mind it because the feel good excitement is so much! Can't wait for my new decks coming in the mail.
Looking forward to interact and lurk on this community.
Thanks for ready all!

Welcome. In addition to the above, do get one of the #7 UC decks from Montenzi. They totally show off what cold foil can do and will not knock a huge hole in your pocket like some decks will.

Montenzi still has them available.
There are lots of great designers and decks, but it is great when you can get one that just will blow you away. BTW, if you haven't gotten Robin Hood, definitely get one.

Welcome to UC. Have fun roaming and exploring what is out there. Let it sink in first though, it can become addictive pretty fast.

Hellos Gandalf, Welcome to UC! The hobby can be expensive you're absolutely right. As with all things though it will be what you decide you would like it be. How much you let in and where you set your own limits will define that for you. It is a luxury hobby. No doubt about that! (It's shipping that kicks everyone in the seat of the pants.)
One of the things I like so much about the hobby is there's always new things to discover and new decks to hunt. Just released or released years ago, there's so much variety out there. So many great treasures out there.

TL:DR It's completely up to you.
We can still be friends.
I actually like playing cards.

Hey man! I’m in the Atlanta area too. Just started cardistry about two months ago and am completely hooked. Spending a fortune on playing cards, that’s for sure! Welcome to the boards!
