As Lorenzo has now temporarily named his new deck. I thought it was time for it to have it's own thread.

Just absolutely beautiful!! And I really hope the ultra thin borders are kept that way.

Absolutely stunning. This is better than Gemini. And Gemini is number 3 on my TOP 150 decks list.

Gemini is my favorite S17 deck, esp the Noctis version.

Congrats on 2500!

If you are looking for some radically new style from Lorenzo for the new deck, then I can understand being underwhelmed. There is a lot that is stylistically similar to other decks by Lorenzo. That said, I really (really) like Lorenzo's style. I do think that he is taking this in a different design direction than his previous decks, but it isn't a huge departure in his style. Heck, it isn't like Lorenzo churns out new completely custom decks every few months. It is often only once every year or two. (My bank account thanks you Lorenzo)

Seeing these decks makes me want to go deep sea fishing...but they are shut down now. Now I wish I had my own boat..something to get out of the house. Even our beaches and State parks are closed. I had more social distancing during hiking trips than I ever did going to the grocery store..sigh. I guess I will plug in and try out a virtual vacation soon. Any recommendations?

When I saw the first drafts done in monotone on Patreon I thought to myself, hmmm looks very similar to HOTRS. That's a shame.

But then Lorenzo did the first color ones and I was amazed how that completely changed the vibe and lost almost all the resemblance to HOTRS.

It's done in his style, yes, but that's not a bad thing

I can't wait - this looks amazing.

As I get deeper and deeper into collecting, I have come to truly appreciate the value of Lorenzo's work. When this project launches, his standard deck will likely be around $15, which is the same as any of the hype brand decks that have little-to-no customization. We will get an artistic masterpiece that is fully-custom without being gouged. He offers so much to this community so I will support any of his custom projects.

Too 'familiar' for a Lorenzo deck. It just doesn't look new. I was expecting better after the HOTRS tarot deck.

To be honest I agree with what your saying in terms of it being familiar. But "generally" can't you guess most designers from just looking at the courts?

I really like these though that name (if it doesn't change) still needs to grow on me a little.

I would be VERY surprised if this kicks off before September as his tarot deck isn’t due to fulfil until August.

I agree that these are pretty amazing. With his reasonable prices it is a guarantee that I will be in. I cannot wait to see the back design and what he comes up with for a gorgeous tuck.

Disagreed with this part. Lorenzo's previous decks, before this HOTRS theme were drastically different. Just look at all th different aces https://www.instagram.com/p/ByVyvl-CBUE ... ma3knwzmlu" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and jokers https://www.instagram.com/p/B3AgzVioYtw ... 3jaa0p3rms" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and queens https://www.instagram.com/p/BiRAgpdlsM2 ... q18j5f3696" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Don't get me wrong, I think these look great, but this deck is still keeping in the same style as his previous few

I think the same would apply to a number of card designers, Gio is the first that come to mind.:.

Giovanni and Lorenzo, and to a lesser extent Lotrek, definitely have a similarity in their styles that make their courts pretty recognizable. Now if you suck, that would be a huge problem. But they're all great at what they do so it works for them and their fans. The risk here is that all the decks start looking the same. Personally, I prefer a more diverse range, which is why I appreciate Jackson and Uusi so much - I like the surprise when they put out a new deck. Having said that, I think it might be a while before I get tired of Lorenzo's decks and I'm looking forward to when these will come out.

Lorenzo did mention in his Patreon post on March 27 that this deck was tied to the HOTRS, so there is a good reason why the style is very similar. :D
