Postage Paid by KWP - March 2020 Shorts deck

Speaking of KWP Shorts decks that I really like. Postage paid is pretty dope, imo. The back design is a bit of a let down but the rest is so strong that I can look past that.

Yesterday, when I checked, there were only a few extra standard decks. Today, there are over 400. That said, this is one set of decks I am stocking up on. This is a really beautiful design. One of his most creative. A special thanks to the card collector whose collection of posted cards inspired Jackson for this deck.

A single Inverted Jenny was sold at a Robert A. Siegel auction in November 2007 for $977,500. In December 2007 a mint never hinged example was sold for $825,000. The broker of the sale said the buyer was a Wall Street executive who had lost the auction the previous month. A block of four Inverted Jennys was sold at a Robert A. Siegel auction in October 2005 for $2.7 million. In the wake of the 2008 financial meltdown, prices fetched by Inverted Jennys receded. Between January and September 2014, five examples offered at auction sold for sums ranging from $126,000 through $575,100. Prices eventually recovered, for on May 31, 2016, a particularly well-centered Jenny invert, graded XF-superb 95 by Professional Stamp Experts, was sold at a Siegel Auction for a hammer price of $1,175,000 The addition of a 15% buyer’s premium raised the total record high price paid for this copy to $1,351,250. On 15 November 2018, the recently discovered position number 49 stamp was auctioned by Robert A. Siegel Auction Galleries for a new record hammer price of $1,350,000, with an 18 percent buyer's premium raising the total cost to US$1,593,000.

Since the rest of the deck isn't terribly elaborate, I like that the deck has a nice simple back design. I think it works really well.

He announced that he “might” use subscriber’s photos for Some of the tickets. Send a photo in. I got my’s name on the nice list of the first Christmas deck when the list opened up with a $10 contribution for a KWP charity. I think that was the first customization he did. I think Jackson is trying to do more of that so all interested subscribers get a chance to get in, not just a few.

Just for trivia purposes, the first customization I did was on the original Federal 52 series. Every court card and ace had either someone's initials or special date on the card.

It's on his Wed weekly update videos. It's also emailed to everyone on the mailing list besides social media. JR will update on social media first before the emails are sent out. But the WWU video links are emailed as well.

I don't think this is a re-release, but just extra decks they found in their warehouse from the initial production. Either way, nice to have them available again since they are going for up to 50 on the secondary market

I always find it funny when companies "find" things in their warehouse. It is definitely possible but at someone who is super organized this always surprises me.

JR actually says as much when he first announced the warehouse clearance sale here on the Wednesday Weekly Update for Jan 18, 2023. I suppose in his case, they didn't have the tucks to go with most of the extra decks and no one brought it up to JR until then. From that case, it seems that regular stocktake and warehouse clearance doesn't happen very often. Of course the amount of decks some companies 'find' can make one suspicious!

Part of the reprint will include a week or so pre-order period to get your own fictitious address immortalized on this print run of decks. For those of you that don't know, each card has a fictitious address that was supplied by a subscriber at the time to mimic the original airmail card and deck that I have.

....except for this part

It will be broken up into three price tiers $100 for either Joker and the AoS, $75 for any of the Court cards, or AoH, AoD, and AoC, and $50 for any of the index cards. I'm not quite sure of the preorder date but be on the lookout for it in the next few weeks.

Yeah, the glee with which some of the discord people are jumping so that they can pay to help make the deck is a bit....odd to me. Even more so considering the price.

I had an address added to the original. The fee is what the fee is. It is fun. If folks gladly pay the money, then good on them. I certainly enjoyed the customization on the original version. I remember paying something like $10 to add my son to the naughty list on the first Christmas deck he did, which was cool.
