Not sure if this should be on the old thread or not. Just read that a new "Collector's Editions" project will launch today at noon EST (6 PM Paris Time).
Honestly, this project is just too much. Everything is limited and there are seven total decks here.

LOL WUT
To be fair, as long as every deck is available alone I don't mind it that much. Plus, If all decks are shown from the start it kind of doesn't rub me the wrong way like getting new decks revealed with every strechh goal does.

How about finishing up and sending out the original set of decks first?! They were supposed to be fulfilled way back in Sept. Jeez.

If he just stuck with the B&W, Cream and Holographic, I would be down. I don't know what is with the whole "shades of grey" thing.
Also, it seems like you can't get the B&W edition unless you back for everything.

I really want the cream and the holo set. You can only get those 2 together and the come with the copper cards from the previous campaign. I will definitely pledge for them but not sure if I will keep it. It will come out to over $30 per deck I think. That is pretty pricey for tuck swaps.
That copper and holo foil though.

LUL ... maybe he is a huge fan of a ... well, let's say commercially successful book series.
Creator didn't had the balls to do 50 shades though. I could've respect that
.

Yeah, I'm torn on these. I'm a big fan of the first Ephemerid series, and I'm backing the long-overdue one, but I king of wish he would have delivered that before embarking on this. Also maybe break it out a bit instead of being one giant campaign. I realize it's largely just new tuck colors, which I'm generally not a fan of....but man these look good. I guess I have ~40min to think about it...

I'm not 100% certain, but I think the B&W edition (No.1) is the same as the Kickstarter Exclusive edition from the Precious Metals campaign. He mentioned that they were sold in a kickstarter before, but I don't think it is explicitly stated on the campaign page.

...and it's funded. That was quicker than I expected - ~35 minutes. Looks like most people (myself included) went for the 'Magnificent 7'. And yes, I caved.

I can't get by the pip-less spot cards. I HATE those numbers instead of pips.

I quite like that sort of thing.
I have the original Deluxe edition (it came from an anonymous source off my Amazon wishlist) and I like it a lot but I won't be buying any of these.

Looking at the page has got me confused. I'm going to sit this one out since I can't tell what... Is it just me or is this one slightly confusing?

I didn't pay further attention since, I'm not interested but it is definitely not a well designed campaign. Indeed confusing at first glance.

I got the cream and holo tier. I have a while to think about it. They are damn pricey though. Echoing someone above, I am not usually into tuck swaps but the cream and holo look so gd good.
I guess I will decide if they are $30+ each good. I really wish there was a tier for the holo deck alone. I would have done that one as i got the copper deck from the last campaign.

My 2 cents on this campaign and Ephemerid in general.
I have like a brick or something of the deluxe decks from the first campaign. The black ones and I think a couple of the standard edition. I really like Mr. Cup as an artist. I really like his style and the Ephemerid deck design, which is why have have so many in my collection. If I really like something, I will get more than one. That said, I am not interested in endless varieties. I always like cold foil, but I think I am fine with Ephemerid at this point and am not interested in adding more.
I hope Mr. Cup does another deck. If so, I will seriously consider backing it.

Personally, I don't think this was confusing, but there sure are a lot of options with this KS. I can understand why some would be confused though! Im in for the holo one (I honestly don't remember which tier) and if I dont like the others They will just be sold/traded. I did really like the original decks though. The one thing that concerns me is that the other KS should have been delivered before this one was launched. I just hope he didnt run short of cash and borrows from this to fulfill the other. That would just create an endless cycle. But I'll give him the benefit of the doubt because he has delivered on campaigns before.

I had a bit of an exchange with Mr Cup which I will post. His last response is kind of irritating to me. I well may end up dropping the pledge based on price and being just a tuck swap.
Also, knowing that the holo and cream decks were funded during the previous campaign as copper decks and he is just pricing high for rarity in finishing off tuck boxes that were funded using different foils.
It's the whole I'm pricing these high because of rarity that is pissing me off. Which he admits to.
Perhaps I'm being crabby about it, but taking previously funded items and finishing off the tuck and charging a premium for rarity seems kind of f#$led to me.
The pictures kind of read bottom to top as the KS app shows the most recent reply at the top and does not group them as conversations.

I don't know. I was ready to agree with you. However, this has been done before. The only example that comes to mind was the Room 17 deck that Lorenzo produced last year. I think he realized there were some unused cards in a warehouse somewhere and made a tuck for them and then sold them for $40.
I can't put my finger on it, but I didn't have a problem with that, but I do have a little bit of a problem with what is happening here.

Gio has done it as well on his last 2 or 3 campaigns, and I have bought none of them, even with Gio being my favorite designer. I guess it is just the way things are.
At least Lorenzo gilded the deck and I believe both had to buy the overrun. These are 200 decks that were paid for and just not completed because of running out of copper foil during production.

For me, I was involved in other life activities when he printed his cards the first time so I never got any. While this looks like a reprint/tuck swap, it affords me the opportunity to pick up decks I missed as well as some variants. Your mileage may vary.

Interesting discussion on the overruns here. My 2 cents: Printing companies give a discount on overruns, at least I was offered both by WJPC and USPCC. I asked them to destroy the additional or overrun decks stock. It is easy to change a tuck, gilding by GW is not that costly and then sell it at a premium. It sells for some. In the end, collectors will justify it themselves why they are or are not buying a deck or two. So, if anyone thinks that by getting overrun decks, a creator has gone for a loss, it is not the case for 99% of such instances. Some use it as a deliberate strategy.
I love Mr Cup's Ephemerid deck and his other non-playing card decks projects on Kickstarter. I am glad to see he has learned from other successful creators and through this project he has turned around the idea of reprint/tuck swaps on its head.
Some designers tend to do the same or a reprint or a card back color change, one by one but he has done it altogether and, I feel people should be more happy to see how he has shown everything from the start compared to how others do it.

I am less concerned about this is being a tuck swap but what annoys the hell out of me is that he is 6 months late with the delivery of his previous campaign and is openly saying that the funds from this “limited” edition will go towards covering the shortfall on his previous project (which, by the looks of it, is nowhere near in sight).

Given Mr Cup's experience with kickstarter, I believe the other project will be fulfilled for sure. I don't understand the shortfall given the amount of funding he received. It is highly possible that he might be able to save in shipping by combining the shipment for repeat backers. Still, it is my take on it and should not sway your decision in backing this latest one if you are not looking to.

Big difference with the Lorenzo’s Room 17 is that he Gilded (changed) his previous overs, and used them for a special event he had planned for over a year. What’s going on here is strictly an overrun that’s also robbing Peter to pay Paul.
I got in on the metallic versions and now I’m in on these limited too. But after seeing Jason’s interaction with him does give me pause and almost makes me want to drop my pledge as well.

Aaand now he’s adding multi-deck sleeves and custom seals to the sleeves. This one has officially rubbed me the wrong way.

He is also apparently re-printing the first standard deck with a blue seal. I never got his earlier decks so I pledged for that 7 deck collector set. With this KS being all over the place and soooo many decks and the world going crazy, I may just drop this pledge.

Definitely not supporting this one as I have yet to receive my reward from his previous campaign. Surprised that this doesn't seem to bother a lot of people.
