Bicycle Sideshow Freaks

Unread post by CBJ »

"Who doesn’t love the idea of an old-fashioned carnival? We’re proud to introduce some of the behind-the-scenes sketches and concept art for the Bicycle® Brand’s latest endeavor: the Freakshow Deck, due on shelves in July 2013.

The court cards all feature favorite freakshow characters like the bearded lady, sword swallower, a contortionist, flame-breather, and more. The tuck alludes to the red and yellow of a gigantic striped circus tent.

Look for the Freakshow Deck at ShopBicycleCards.com this summer!"

These will be added to the collection.

Wouldn't be bad for under $10.

Sweet! I'm all over these. Thanks MF.
But yes, I'd order them through BMP if available as well...
My only question is: where is the Walrus card?

Walruses are too hideous even for sideshow freaks.

I wonder what's the shipping cost for one deck on Bicycle website? I'll also probably get them from Bmp.

Even if the total cost is slightly more than the bike site, i'd rather support BMP for hosting this forum. Besides, we gotta help Mike pay for his new swimming pool. ;)

I checked international, which is $14.99 for up to (I think) 8 decks.

I forgot about the Speakeasy deck since the same company did the artwork for both decks.

I like the backs quite a bit. Faces don't do that much for me. I think fomo is right, a nice Walrus card would put these over the top. Is it strange that I will buy cards strictly based on back design. I only pay attention to the fronts when I am looking for cards to add to my magic effects.

The spades and clubs look brown instead of black on the computer. If they're really brown, great!

Yes, what is usually black in color is a very dark brown in this deck, also the red hue is a lot darker than usual. I must say, I really like this deck.

Bought a couple of these and opened one just now.

59 cards

Top to bottom:

1 - Joker 1
2 - Joker 2
3 - Ace of Spades
4 - 2 of Spades
etc.
53 - 2 of Hearts
54 - Ace of Hearts
55 - Facebook / Twitter / YouTube card
56 - Bicycle "Can't remember the rules?" card
57 - Joker 1
58 - Joker 2
59 - Ace of Spades

So if you open yours and your deck starts with the 2 of Spades, let me know... I have some of your cards.

More seriously, obviously this is a slip-up with QA at USPCC. It's the first time I've seen something like it. How uncommon is this?
