Hello to everyone! I have launched my deck of cards on Kickstarter few days ago. The idea was to motivate other artists to never give up. Because there will always be people who will want to waste your trick, career or only to make you feel bad. But you must believe in yourself and make what makes you happy! I was in Madison’s alleance. But for some reasons i left , now i am looking at myself and being in contact with lot of guys from there. I will never forget that period. If you wanna take a look at my project i will really appreciate it. The pictures over there are from the first version prototype. Always like to see someone new in the playing card arena. However, court faces resembling actual people are one of the few things in which I have a very strong negative reaction to. I still wish you good luck in your campaign.

Thank you for your message my friend. I didn’t imagine that custom courts can be a huge problem. For me who know the story are real people, for those who don’t know are not common courts. I put them spending money and time because i wanted an not bored deck, i don’t know how i can explain. Thank you so much for your opinion! I appreciate it! Tuck box will be upgraded. I will post the final back design on the kickstarter’s page today night or tomorrow, illustrator is still at work following my requests. Can’t wait to see it too!!

As silly as it may seem to others, I don't want to have a deck with Yassine Boudraa's face in it. He is still AWOL from his own kickstarter project (5 of Spades). It may be totally fine for you to have him in your deck but unlike you, the only shared history I have with him is from that KS project. I just can't support anything related to him as long as this situation hasn't been clarified.

I can see this is a passion project and I applaud you for taking the time to set up a campaign to get this funded.

I know I am not the intended audience as I collect fully-custom playing cards, but this project feels a bit too personal. The custom court faces have significant meaning to your journey, but what will those faces mean to collectors or even other cardists/magicians who may not have even heard about those people? I have seen this type of project a few times lately and I just don't understand how custom faces that mean a lot to the creator, will translate or resonate with people looking to buy cards.

So i am understanding that maybe i know less than i must know about somebody. If i remove not good people. Will be okay? I believe that for those who know the story, are real people. For those who don’t know the story, it’s only a deck with non common courts, non boring. I don’t know. I can share here pictures with the clean courts so you can judge. Only the queens have my logo hidden somewhere. And the K Is me.

With personal friends and the Malliance as the court figures and not much else to offer, expect this to be received best in the DM fan base---but not much otherwise.

I've just replied to your P.M. about this situation. To make it clear to everyone here, basically, Yassine was involved in a project designed by Sam Hayles and he has gone missing for the last six months after having troubles in his personal life according to his updates. I just hope he's fine and that he'll come back to clarify the situation. If the project failed, I want to hear it from him. If he took the money because he had to in order to cure his son or his mother, so be it. Just don't leave backers in the dark like this, it will only make you pass as a scam artist.

Facts:
1. 17 backers for $1465 funded is quite.. maybe.. impressive. Also the current backers do not add to a number even close to that. that remind me some previous projects from BD
2. low funding goal.....
3. 60 day campaign.....

Personal preference:
1. reminds me DM decks , especially the back
2. I don't like random people I don't care shows up in the court cards
3. 16 Euro shipping cost for 1 deck is unheard before

In italy, posts only do lowest cost than curriers. And under 2kg it’s the same prive. 30€ for USA. You can ship 1 deck(100gr) or 10 decks (1 kg) are always 30€.

I find this very interesting and I do not understand completely how KS works, but,

17 backers - If I count up the number of backers at each pledge level, I get 16. Where is the 17th?

Also, of the 16, 1 pledged without a reward, while the other 15 pledge for rewards totaling about $817. The current funding is at $1465. So, does this mean the 1 backer that did not select a reward contribute $648?

you don't know the add-on amount. Plus there one backer pledged for nothing (who can pledge $648 if he wants). Though this campaign does not have an add-on list.

Another explanation could be that the pledged amount includes shipping cost (which they should not).

5 of Spades was one of the very first playing card Kickstarters I backed - I didn't know any better at the time I guess Anyway, the campaign funded on March 9, 2018 - there were regular updates through May 2018, then one in July 2018 (saying there's no news), September 2018 (apology for no updates, says there is no news), November 2018 (another apology)... and finally again, and most recently, August 2019 (another apology and saying there will be more news soon)...

I'm gonna be a hater and just say that this is a big fat no for me. This deck just doesn't tickle me at all.
Let me just go through why so it doesn't look like I didn't go in with an open mind.

1. The grayscale just seems boring to me. There doesn't feel like there's much life in the cards, with Snackers at least they seem kinda fun with themes. I however do like the red/maroon that you're using.
2. The Back is...
3. Pips, meh sure standard not much to say. This is fine.
4. The courts creep me out, I don't know who these people are and don't care. They also look weird/ unbalanced.
5. No idea what the tuck looks like.

Well enough of my complaining. It's just not my cup of tea, BUT I wish you good luck and hope you succeed.

One major problem for me, apart from the current design, is the whole title and theme, it turns me off, immediatly. Why elevating haters - something negative - that much? I get the point that unnecessary negative people can serve as a motivation, but it leaves me with a focus on too much negativity for my taste. Supporters playing cards would be a way better take, but maybe that is just me.

Hey everyone! Hello everyone! I talked to the post office these last two days, wanting to find an agreement to lower shipping costs ... especially to Europe and the Rest of the world .. and I did it !! Nothing special .. a few euros less but it is always something! Since I can no longer modify the rewards already purchased., to compensate for the greater amount you will pay. To all those who have already purchased and who will.. I will add numbered sticker and thank you card always with the serial number of the copy or copies to be received and other gadgets. More news coming! for now I can only thank you all from the heart!

The problem with custom courts like this is that while they may be personal to you, they are not to the rest of us.

Yep. You can't go to a comedy club and tell inside jokes. Well, you can, but nobody's gonna laugh.

I kinda disagree. As long as the courts look good, I don't care if they are random or actual persons. Dunno why folks have a problem with courts that depict real persons.
My only problem with most modified courts a la Daniel Schneider or therealike, they simply don't look good and in most cases even worse than standard courts. So my only gripe with the courts is that they simply don't look good and not that they show friends and family of the creator.

In my analogy, they'd then also have to be good jokes on their own (which inside jokes rarely are). But yes, I agree that the main problem with this particular style of courts (real faces put on standard USPCC court bodies) generally look nothing less than atrocious.

I just don't feel anything from this deck, it doesn't feel inspiring nor does it give me any wanna touch or display to the world vibes.

These kind of courts just look odd to me because the body is very 2d and flat then the face or head is a 3d or realistic style. I don't really care that it is a real person. It is just the contrasting styles that turns me off.

Hello everyone! I am Kris and yesterday i’ve relaunched Haters playing cards on Kickstarter. Very limited edition and rewards with only 2 or 3 copies. Each copy will be closet by a numbered sticker and the final tuck will have a damaged effect design. It’s better to create something that others criticize..that to create nothing and criticize others. We always have to do what makes us happy. Whatever the judgment of others. Art isn’t for everyone.. not even inner peace. I don’t research success.. i only want people like me..
