Interesting. They've been around for quite awhile, but this is a newer account with only 2 projects. Both have the Delaware location. Their previous 15 projects on their older account were in California (at least from a random sampling, including their first and last projects.)DelMagic wrote:The thing that caught my attention regarding this project was the location given on Kickstarter - Newark, DE or Delaware in case you didn't know.
Since I live in Delaware, just a few miles from Newark, I found this very surprising. I have never heard of custom deck work in Delaware. There isn't much info about Elite Playing Cards online - apparently part of Elite Magic which seems to do business in New Jersey.
Delaware happens to be a state which has no sales tax, so I was wondering if perhaps that could be the reason for using Newark as the location for the business of producing this deck.
Agreed! Although this might be their best one IMO. But it's still decked out in too much Elite-ness for me to pledge. It's also too reminiscent of other past designs.MagikFingerz wrote:I just realized that I can now instantly recognize an Elite deck. Not much of a superpower, but I think I've guessed correctly on their last 3 projects before confirming
Man, this is so dead on accurate! The question now is if that's a good thing; consistency versus stagnation.MagikFingerz wrote:I just realized that I can now instantly recognize an Elite deck. Not much of a superpower, but I think I've guessed correctly on their last 3 projects before confirming
It's the same reason that I haven't supported a Gio deck in over a year.aardvarkgod wrote:Man, this is so dead on accurate! In the least condescending way possible, I think that if you're unsure about whether or not to pledge, you already have your answer.
Personally, I'm unimpressed with this deck. Mind you wallet OV!

!!! IMPORTANT UPDATE !!!
READ BELOW IF YOU WANT YOUR CARDS!!
I've been talking to Eddie from Gamblers Warehouse for almost 2-3 months now on how to solve this issue.
Background: Elite sent the regular decks to Gamblers, asked them to gild a certain amount and make seals, but never paid for the gilding, seals, or shipping. That's why they weren't shipped.
How to get your decks:
We will all have to pay the following costs to get our decks:
- $7.95 per gilded deck for the gilding and assembly of the decks.
- $0.50 per gilded deck for seals.
- Shipping at cost depending on how many decks and your location.
How to pay will be given when you email them and they give you the exact total.
You must email the following email with the following subject title:
- Title: Royale Bicycle Playing Cards
- Email: sales@gamblerswarehouse.com
Mention you are a Kickstarter backer and are trying to pay your additional costs. You will have to attach a screenshot of your pledge. Click "View Pledge" and screenshot the items of your order and backer number - basically the entire page. This is to make sure only backers are getting their decks and no one is getting scammed. Attach this in your initial email to streamline the process.
I've been working hard to try to make this happen, so if you have any questions, please let me know. This is the best solution so Gamblers doesn't get screwed over with costs, and we don't get screwed by not getting our decks. Yes, we have to pay a little more, but it's better than losing your entire $100-$200 pledge.
Let me know if you have questions. Thanks
