Planck Deck Coming to KS....Maybe

I'm about halfway through the courts on my next deck and looking for some input. Its a science and astronomy theme. I really like modified standard courts for playability as opposed to completely redrawn courts so please keep that in mind. The card back is currently full bleed and you can see it on the back of the tuck box image.
Initial impressions? Colors? Fonts? Style? Start over it sucks? Any input is appreciated.
Jason

I like the direction this is taking, Jason. Very fun theme and the semi-custom courts look to be really interesting.
I had a couple of thoughts:
- I love the card backs and the back of the tuck. I know this is in draft mode, but I did see some inconsistent placement for several circles on your grid. I would be careful that those are perfectly aligned.
- The font feels dated, in my opinion. It's fine if you want to use a serif font, but I think this option might be too generic.
- I feel like the Spade pip is too elongated. Perhaps squish it a bit? The other pips seem to have better proportions.
- The hands are much better on the Jack. The hands on the astronaut look like weird, baby hands
This looks like a great, playable deck. I would love to see more and best of luck with the future launch!

Thanks Baconwise. I'll keep those points in mind and make some adjustments. The hands on the Queen do look odd. They are exact replicas from a standard deck QoS. I may need to work on that too.

A couple more drafts for input if anyone has thoughts. Thanks as always. Jason

I like the theme of this deck quite a bit act, I love science/engineering stuff and feel like ive never gotten a deck to fit this theme, so this could be it ^^
IMO, all the courts should have a costumized face (or most of them), so the deck can be more interesting, no need for fully custom ofc since you mentioned ur not super into it. Im liking the ET and the astronaut so far!
About the equations and symbols, not sure if they would be visible. The ones around the queen's neck for example are probably OK, but the ones in the center (wich I dont know what they are) and the uncertainty principle equation on the king might not be visible when printed, so probably worth being sure.
And I'd love to give you more ideas, but not exactly a super creative person, just wanted to show some support cz I want this one to succeed.
Best of luck

Hmm... I dunno. While I can appreciate the nerdy humor and the thoughts put into the details, the design itself leaves me wanting. Too standard for my taste. Especially the tuck box. The front reminds me of the David Blaine Stoics, a deck that would have never sold, if it wasn't attached to David Blaine. I get it when somebody leaves a deck standard-ish for magic and gameplay purposes (although I don't really see the point, because good custom decks are still playable and can be used for magic), but the tuckbox should be more intricate, artsy or however you wanna call it, imo. I guess I'm not the target audience for this deck.

Thanks for your thoughts. I'm back and forth with customizing all faces but will give it some more thought and will definitely double check the visibility of the equations on the final product. The equation on the queen is one of my favorites. Its the Drake Equation, and is used to estimate the number of technologically advanced civilizations that might exist is our galaxy.

I understand and appreciate the input. Interesting that you mention Stoics. The inspiration for the tuck is actually the Mint Frost deck. I love the simple elegance of the design. Although I can see how it works if you are one of the big name producers but looks over simplified and lazy from a newer, less know artist.

Wow, that's awesome, how didn't I know about that, love the touch even more ^^

Just to clarify, it doesn't work on a db deck or the frost mint (had to look it up... urgh... I have to admit that I like the back pattern though - same as on your deck, the back is cool
) either, for me. It's just that those can sell it despite being s***, not to me, but appareantly to others.

So a "scientific" equation made to guess the number of advanced civilizations in the galaxy when we cannot even verify the simplest of lifeforms in our own solar system?
I would be curious what constants and "facts" are used in the formulation of the equation.
Hey, I have designed an equation that tells me how many Slime people space frigates there are in the next closest galaxy. Its 412. Prove me wrong.

It's more of a way to calculate the probability/likelyhood I believe, obviously it's not meant to tell you an exact and accurate number, it's more of an incentive to stimulate the conversation and further development to find it.

Some info on the Drake Equation. It’s not scientific fact or even theory. More of a starting point for thinking about such issues.
