I made custom frame out of maple to display the Room 17 deck and one of my antique keys I like to collect. I used magnets so I can use the deck whenever I want and it worked out pretty well for this novice woodworker! The wood is maple I can't figure out a way to get a gif small enough to fit on UC, so I am linking my Instagram post of the video. I love how it turned out!

Re: Handmade Display Frame for Room 17 - WITH MAGNETS!
I ordered some button magnets on Amazon and drilled a hole in the backer board to rest the magnet in. I found some small metal plates used for cell phone magnetic mounts and slid one into the open tuck case. The magnets are strong enough to hold through the fabric and the tuck casehsbc wrote:How is the deck magnetized??

That is a really nice display. I like how you set it up so you can easily get out the deck to use occasionally, However, you could always have the cards outside the tuck and no one would even know the cards weren't in the tuck. Just saying.
While the key is a bit oversized for that deck, it still looks cool. I like how you were able to combine both collecting hobbies toether. That is a twofer if ever I saw one. Bravo!!!

Awesome build and a great idea with the magnetic mount.

As I mentioned on IG, this is simply awesome! BTW, if you don’t want to use an open deck, you could use a DS1 Deck Sleeve and put the plate in the back of the deck inside the sleeve.

Love it. And I get your fascination with antique keys, that one is gorgeous.

I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure that key is way too big to fit in the deck's keyhole.
