Florentia Nova - Florentia Antica

Unread post by Conturbia »

Dear friends, Elettra Deganello is working on another project with us, presumably ready for spring 2020: Firenze Nova / Firenze Antica. It's a pair of decks centered on the city of Florence (Firenze in Italian). The two main decks should have different vibes: a "modern" take on Firenze Nova, ("Nova" meaning "new", "fresh") and a more classic approach on Firenze Antica ("Antica" meaning "ancient" in Italian).

I want to share some images (preliminary) with you and gather your feedback.

Requiring 4 decks to complete the image is overkill.

Not that the deck can't be otherwise appreciated...

Looks interesting so far! Not to mention she is the artist behind the recent Pinocchio decks!

She has a couple of other sketches for the FIRENZE project on her IG:

What are you talking about? Isn't that the norm for any wrap-around design?

I think 3 will suffice, looks like the far right one is superfluous.

"Norm" tucks aren't wraparound. Most tucks aren't designed in an odd manner that seem to center on this 4-deck wraparound presentation. That is what I'm talking about - just to be clear.

Burden for the perfectionist I guess haha; personally, I just get one and turn it around to admire the wrap-around artwork.

Well no, the image is complete on one deck, this is only a rendered display, to show all the faces. :)

Exactly, Firenze Nova will have this "modern" approach to the tuck design, while Firenze antica will be more traditional.

Pledged! I'm only in for the 2 decks though. That sleeve is cool but a little too expensive for my liking.
