So basically this one's going all Riffle Shuffle style then? Right.

At least the gold foil is going to be just as shiny hehe... If this was a deck without that foil "1st" and the brand name, I don't think it would fund as a Kickstarter project, having repeating clip-art slapped on the back. But oh well, at least it's not another recolor.

Hmmmm. I don't know about this. I like that the foil looks copper. I feel like if you are going to redesign the whole thing, then change the foil bad around the deck as well.

The v1 and v2 had such a classy style. This is one of the cases where I am torn between having something different and not wanting tons of recolors but also liking the backs and style of the Originals so much.

This jungle palm tree thing... I think that is ok enough but don't make them 1st v3. Make it a whole different deck or line not associated with 1st besides being from Ramsay. I'm not sure I will bite on these.

I was looking forward to these. Disappointed a bit.

As someone who likes the 1ST decks enough to want a V2 at some point, I'm conflicted about these. There's something about the foil over the stark white and leafy greens which feels refreshing and interesting, but on the other hand if the foil wasn't there I can see how they would be an instant 'nope'.

My instant reaction to these was that I was a bit disappointed, but I'm starting to move towards apathetic. It's all part of the 1ST brand he's trying to cultivate, becoming like a fashion brand. It's using the same template of the gold-foiled 1ST logo and border with whatever he currently thinks is fashionable, which I guess right now is palm fronds? Point is, the design isn't really meant to carry this deck, it's all about the brand. That being said, I'm a sheep because I think the design is baaaahh-d (well, more "meh", just couldn't resist the pun), but will still most likely get one anyways. When the v4s with the gold-foiled 1ST logo and border over a background of, i dunno, top hats and monocles comes out, hopefully I'll have re-evaluated the priorities in my life.

V2 never really sold out. They were available (after the "private stock" was made available) until 2 weeks ago and are now just taken down. V3 are still available and regarding the print run number which is a minimum of 20,000 they will take long to sell out. Especially since the resellers will refrain from big orders after they're still sitting on their V2s. I'm by no means a Chris Ramsay fan, but I quite like that he is selling his cards for an almost reasonable price in large quantities so that real fans and people that like the cards can grab them for retail and not have to pay inflated prices. Tip to the hat for that. Kinda refreshing.

Oh. I thought the initial offering on his website sold out pretty fast. I realize they aren't sold out in the sense of a lot of people bought a ton of them for reselling and he didn't release every deck produced at launch.

I hope they are sitting on them and are not able to resell them. Either way, I can't imagine that the v3s are selling as well.

I appreciate that he does make a lot at a reasonable price to make them available. It makes so much more sense to me to sell, what was it 13k decks? super fast for $15 a deck then to make a "limited" run of 1000 decks and marking them up to the point that less people buy them because of price. He is a big name that can sell that volume though.

Just saw Chris Ramsay's video on the v3s, he said the leaves on the tuck is embossed? That's pretty cool, Clove St. Press really makes some nice tuckcases. Might pick up a few more now.

And yeah, I really appreciate him printing so many to keep resale prices down, all while keeping the same price point, though I guess not many creators can afford to do that.

Have you seen v2 prices on ebay? I wouldnt say that it keeps down resale prices. As they still want to charge double or more.

I think that it just allows the people that want the deck to have a fair shot at getting them at reasonable launch prices rather than getting sold out so quickly with the only option being to pay the resale prices.

It seems like most everyone that wanted one got them for $15 leaving the quantity resale buyers stuck with them becuase now they can't sell them very well at their 200% mark up.

But, I suppose you could then say it keeps down the price because everyone already bought them and won't pay that high price. So basically went on a long winded reason that probably just proves your point lol.

Don't take eBay as a price indicator. You'll find V3s on eBay for more than double as well, despite being still in stock at Chris' place  I mean, we have a whole thread dedicated to people that don't know the market on eBay. After the restock of the V2 the prices dropped significantly. What lays around on the bay is the stock that'll sit there forever because no reasonable customer is so stupid to pay these prices.

This is a nice offer LOL

I dont get whats up with USPC. I hope it's not like the Mint V2 that had HUGE border printing issues. I love the mint brand, but the printing issues on the cards AND the tuck, pissed me a lot and made me like them way less. Just hope the misprinting ends there, the 1st V2 were on my top 5 of all time :/ Don't want to see them decline

My educated guess is, they simply print and produce faster due to the higher demand of custom playing cards.
If you take higher tolerances than the maschine stops less and you have less waste. Two things that save you a lot of money. The cards get bought anyways, and even after it became a meme, USPC couldn't care less until the producers themself e.g. Chris voice their concern and threaten them to pull their orders.

Rather than get a V3 I finally caved after all this time (I just can't deny how well-executed the design is) and got a V2 during Black Friday for less than a V3, I'm happy with my choice. Didn't realise the tuck stock was somewhat soft-touch, it feels very nice, are the V3's the same?
