WiFi 6 (802.11ax) equipment

Is anyone else trying out the new "Wi-Fi 6" equipment? I am a member of the Belkin / Linksys "Friends and Family" team, so they sent me a Velop MX5 (AX5300 class) triband border router to play with.
Using a Nighthawk A6s RE8000 "mesh" triband extender with it seems to be giving me fits, even though it worked perfectly with the previous generation (AC3000 class) triband Velop router. The AD & AN stuff seems to be happy, as well as my Linksys EA9500 triband old school AC5400 triband router.
I know that Netgear's Orbi "mesh" stuff uses a nonstandard star or hub topology so it is not interoperable with other manufacturers, but their Nighthawk mesh gear is supposed to be 100% compatible. That's why I got the Nighthawk equivalent instead of the Orbi mesh entender.
