How many decks repeated in your collection?

Unread post by sms69x »

Hi,

Just to have people sharing their thoughts on how many repeated decks they have in their collection and why!! And you have them opned or sealed??

I just keep one deck! And I always open it! So in my collection there's no sealed decks and no repeated!
Most of the collectors I know always have 2, one to keep sealed and other to mess arround! I used to do that, but then I realized that It would cost alot of money and space!!!!

What about you??

99% of my decks are single and opened. The rare time I get a duplicate deck it's maybe a color variation, but I don't really have the funds to always get a different color.

I respectfully plead the 5th on this one... as to not come across as a deck purchasing fool. :)

Most of my decks are actually in triples. One to use one to keep sealed and one to
trade or sell. There are a few I only have singles of like the Gold Arcane Black Ghost1st
edition Black Artifice Red Artifice White Ghost1st Ediition.. They are all unoponed. Probably
the only deck of a relavley valuable I opened is the Brown Wynn great for magic.

I started out buying singles, then had a period where I started buying doubles to keep one sealed. Like others though, I found out that this was too expensive and stopped (because of this I have a small case of decks that I'll be selling off some time in the future). I still buy multiples every once in a while, but only when I actually want more than one deck for myself. Not to mention the nice little stockpile I have of my favorites; OH Tallies, Watermelons, Virginia Slims etc.

Not to drive this off topic but I agree the Watermelons are a great deck. I can see how
it would be great for cardists. What is it with the Virginia Slims that makes them sought after.

What is it with the Beatles that makes them so good?

It's hard to explain, it must be experienced ;) I could say they're unique, but that doesn't really say much.

The Beatles are great as they are from Sveden. I thought maybe the slims are thin
or something of the sort. I would like to get a pack but I do not seem them around much

How many are in mine? Close to 250 with a few uncut sheets.
I like to get doubles to open 1 and display the other.

That's interesting. I usually display the opened one and store the sealed one(s) more safely.

I try to get two of each design (that I choose to acquire). At least one deck goes into a plastic box for display, leaving one open deck to handle, scan, and put into play. I have only a couple bricks or other multiples. About five multiples out of 1900+ designs.
