Anyhow, the campaign is a bit confusing. The first thing you see is a black tuck boxed deck and the campaign name is Black Spades. But the standard tier deck is a red one... other than that, a solid deck with good/decent artwork. To get to my wallet there had to be some more at the face cards though. Pass.

Besides being poker playing cards, they are apparently designed for a game called black spades. In that game the 2 of diamonds and all the spades are trumps, this is why they are golden and the clubs black. At least this is what I get from the campaign. Don't know that game either...

$20 for one non-standard deck shipped? Not quite good enough for that price. Campaign deck names are also a little confusing in the reward tiers IMO.

Not a slam dunk for me, but I do like the courts and US$10 is reasonable... but $15 on top of that to ship a single deck to Canada is simple greed.

New side opening tuck and apparently some other minor changes I believe, printer not listed but I assume it's the same as before. Pricey as hell though, $25 shipped but seems no international shipping.

Did anyone pick up one of these? How do they handle?

I see from the official product pages that the side-loading tuck pictured above was just a limited edition version. The standard versions all have regular tuck boxes.

In 2020 they also created a customized version of this deck specifically for DJ Demp to commemorate the 23rd annual Demp Week, which are similar to the standard versions, but with a slightly different tuck box.

These guys have now produced a number of decks that are part of the Blvck Spades family, all with the ancient Egypt theme, and with customization of certain cards for playing Spades:

I've used a few of these decks now, which are printed in China, and the quality and handling of the cards is solid.
