How did this flew under UC's radar and got funded so quickly with 104 backers already?!?!

But easy pass for me. This is messier than the CPC Relic deck.

Because it's Elite

Lots of design elements but all over the place. Typical Elite deck, not for me.

+1. I guess we're just not elite enough :ugthink:

Says it's being web press printed. I might pick one up in the aftermarket

They say a lot of things that don't always turn out to be true. Or, there will be a caveat somewhere that says a certain stretch goal has to be hit first (which never will be).

Did I understand correctly that the golden parts are not printed with metallic colours even in the Limited Edition? Instead another deck, which is gilded absurdly...

Elite has a loooooooooong history of showcasing their designs as golden and never using a single metallic ink.

Shame on them for getting me with their Gold deck, and shame on me for getting the One Million deck. Never again, though, b-holes.

Which is exactly why I'm not backing

What I'm interested in is how they managed to get 189+ backers just in the first day, it's as if they've mandated everyone of their employees and their families to back and boost the campaign.

They have been around for quite a while and strangely have quite a strong following...basically any project they launch is almost a guaranteed funded project...weird, but true...even after they over promise and under deliver, time and time again...smh

Some things in life, we just can't explain :?

Given this, isn’t it odd that they created a new Kickstarter account for this campaign? I had to go looking for what projects they’d done in the past, before reading this thread I thought it was a new creator.

Probably completists and Bicycle brand collectors.

I am both but have never had any interest in Elite. If I may quote a wise sage, "Some things in life, we just can't explain :?"

Do card designers just pull deck names out of a hat? What part of this deck evokes the idea of "evolve"? This has kind of an art-deco steampunk mechanical look, almost the exact literal opposite of anything that might evolve as it is both nonbiological and evocative of the past. However I will admit that the AoS reminds me of Johnny 5.

Or "Relic", which vaguely suggests stone, but certainly doesn't make me think of the preserved remains of dead saints.

These guys will not be getting my backing after the last two pieces of crap they manufactured. The Hybrid deck really pissed me off. They are known for making incredible looking preliminary designs that they showcase in the KS and delivering something way less. I did kinda like their Codex deck. But lets face it, they are all starting to look alike.

They do explain their name change underneath their company brief, though...probably trying to expand beyond just playing cards into Magic.
