Edgar Allan Poe Playing Cards reprint

I have had a lot of interest and inquiries, asking if I intend to reprint this deck. It has been sold out for years now and apparently a lot of people still want it. I'm looking for some input from UC to see if it's worth the undertaking.
Thanks in advance for your input,
Dave

The original Kickstarter specifically states "We will only be printing one run of this deck, so the decks will be Limited Edition" and "Once this campaign is over, you shall find these cards nevermore." Seems disingenuous to reprint the originals. Maybe a second edition in the same theme, but not the same art? For the record, I do not have any of these.

I am newer to the collecting scene, so I wasn't aware these existed. Very cool! I would love to see a reprint or perhaps a v2 launch on Kickstarter? I am a sucker for embossed tucks, so you could have an unbranded deck as a stretch goal. A v2 standard deck combo with a KS exclusive deck would be a hit, in my opinion. Thanks for sharing this and I so go for a re-print at the very least :)

I would buy these cards but I agree with Rob that reprinting a deck promised to be a strictly limited edition severely compromises the integrity of the original and will piss off a lot of people, rightfully so.

You can recycle 95% of the art but there has to be enough distinction that collectors will never confuse the two, and it has to be on both tuck and cards.

I reviewed these last year! Part of my Raven episode. I also played Edgar Allan Poe! lol In case it's not obvious from the thumbnail.

A two way back would be my biggest request on these. Perhaps moving the poe portrait into a symertrical bicycle-like design where there's one at each end of the back.

I can't believe I didn't catch the Poe deck in that Ravn review. I guess I was just focused on that glorious hair! You and Dave need to coordinate on the campaign video and reprise your role, for sure

I would like to do a second edition with a symmetrical back design, as well as a new tuck design. I would print with USPCC again. Is the Bicycle logo a must have?

I'm a big fan of unbranded tucks and I have very few Bicycle branded decks in my collection. However, I may be in the minority when it comes to Bicycle branding. Either way, I would be interested in a v2.

I managed to snag one in the aftermarket and wouldn't mind a v2.

The one-way back is the reason I didn't pick these up on the aftermarket so yes, please. Since you apparently did promise these would be a limited edition, never to be reprinted, I agree you should do entirely new back and tuck designs, and not just modify what was used for v1 in that regard. (In any event I always think back designs with portraits, one-way or otherwise, just look awkward.)

I would definitely be interested in a new version of this deck with symmetrical back and new tuck. Bicycle branding is not important for me personally.

Definitely interested in this! I have looked for the original deck and have not been able to find one.

I have to agree with others here that you can't do a straight reprint of the original, but doing an update to the backs and tuck (and perhaps some tweaks to the card faces, if you're so inclined) would be a home run, and I think you'll see this generate more interest in the V2 than the original did all those years ago.

I'd add stretch goals like embossing the tuck, metallic ink accents to the cards, etc.

A two-way back would be the bomb.

That said, I've always been a fan of your work, and I think any chance to keep you engaged in playing card design is a good thing. For us, at least. :)

I do not own these, I just started collecting around last august.

No exact reprint since you said you wouldnt.
Bicycle branding is not a must.
Tuck embossing and foil is.

Thanks!

As already mentioned, the one way back stopped me from getting the first version. If this is changed by a potential v2, I'll definitely be interested.
The Bicycle logo isn't a must have for me at all but I know some people who like the branding. If you go through KS, it might help you get a few more pledges.
Please, do not reprint the deck as it was, it's important to collectors and more importantly for your own name.

We've had our share of Lovecraft's Cthulhu decks (I'm not one to complain about that like some people here :D , I play the RPG and frequently incorporate the cards into the sessions), but I would gladly live with more Edgar Allan Poe.

Oh yes! V2 would be great. Suggested changes:
- as stated 2 way backs
- embossed foiling as stretch goals.
- Bicycle branding not needed, especially if it increases the cost
- retouch the art and colours if there's any you wish to modify or improve
-include an extra card listing which books and/or characters the courts are from. Good for those of us who haven't read the whole series
- offer V1 from your private reserve if any left as special tiers or special request addons.

Most times the unbranded versions look better than the branded versions, imo. So, I wouldn't say it is a must at all.
For consistency it would be fine though and I know people that are especially collecting only Bicycle branded decks. On the other hand I didn't come across a collector that didn't buy a deck she/he liked designwise just because it has Bicycle on the tuck.

For the design, the 2-way back, like suggested from Omar and others is a great idea, imo.
I would go for a campaign for a second branded version and an unbranded limited edition (maybe limited to 1845 copies).
