Damn I just stocked up on a bunch of Bees. I have a family member heading to China
and I am giving them to her to hand out to friends and family I have in China.
For some reason Bees are highly sought after in Mainland China. Even the Chinese
hate Chinese made decks. I would have loved to send her back with these unique colors.
I guess I will get some and bring them with me when I go next year. By the way why did Jake
from E confirm this. Was it just his general interest in cards or is E involved in this.

This deck is really interesting to me. Unique back design, awesome history, cool court cards, and a new finish!

These are now for sale at CARC.

http://shop.conjuringarts.org/store/pc/ ... dcategory=" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

EMAIL from CARC:
Conjuring Arts presents...
The Erdnase 216 Deck!
Conjuring Arts recently found what may be the only existing complete and unused example of the Bee 216 Deck, produced circa 1900! This means that we now know what cards from Erdnase's time felt like!

Using this mint condition deck, we set about to reproduce it using all the technology and resources at our disposal. The Erdnase 216 Deck has the same thickness (14.50 mm) and a very similar slip ratio to the original deck. We have also replicated the back design of the Bee 216, which resembles the squiggles in M.D. Smith's illustrations. What if this design was actually the type of card Erdnase used at the time the book was illustrated?

This is the shortest run of cards that Conjuring Arts has ever produced. Act now - these will disappear VERY quickly!

Available in Green and Tan.

Prices as low as $3.99/deck US POSTPAID for members!*
*(When you buy 144 decks. Members must login for discounted pricing)

Thanks!

And I am a victim of advertising.

You did fine Ortho, they look like very nice cards. You do have to be a bit careful about the hype these companies put out about cards (big nod to DandD) but CARC always has some nice cards at a good price.

I had to get one to check out this new thin stock/finish combo to see what it's all about. Gotta keep up with the latest developments. Neat looking deck with cool history.

One deck? But... it comes it two colors? *Collecting logic failing*... *Does not compute*...

I like CARC and I love what they do. In a world of foil, embossment and UV ink (can't wait for Grid 2.0 BTW!), they stick to the roots and release some good 'ol fashioned decks. Hell, if they rereleased all the cards in the Hochman Encyclopedia, I'd go broke. But these ones just seem meh to me. Not so much because of their simple, ugly-retroish design (and I don't mean that as an insult- I like ugly retro cards.. like the brown and orange Ace Fulton's) but... idk. They just almost seem too simple.

Can someone please remove that auto-replace for "m e h" already?

I got mine, standing next to a standard Bee deck - they're a lot thinner

Just picked up two dozen of these from Tannen's and I am so hooked! The ERDNASE FINISH IS AWESOME!!! Best deck ever for second and bottom deals and I love the colors. Very unique!

uh-huh.

Why would someone pay $7.95 + shipping from tannen's when they're still available for $6.99, delivered (nevermind $55/brick, delivered), from CARC?

Anyways. They're okay - basically an ivory finish on a slightly thinner card. Not liking the one-way back, though.

yea, I've been thinking about one way back designs lately and frankly, I don't know what the big deal is. Most people don't even realize that decks are "flipable" since many people have special decks from amusement parks and national parks that are not. Personally for people who fan, a deck that is different on the left and right or top and bottom works better as you can create multiple variations.

In truth the only special things about this deck is the tuck box (barely) the back design, the card stock and finish. Jokers and face cards are similar if not the same as the other Erdnase Bee decks from CARC. At least, I have not found anything special.
