KardKraken subscription club

Looks likes Will Roya started a new trend! Not sure if Dylan was inspired by Will, JR or both, but now he's launched his very own Kardkraken Subcriber's club. And it's already over 300% funded! Wow. (Not. since the goal is only $100.) Not sure what to think of this project

All his decks are so ridiculously overpriced, I genuinely don't understand who buys them :? $40 for an MPC deck, come on

24 Hour campaign? Maybe he's not so confident, congrats to the 4 people who signed up so far though I guess? Can't say I've ever backed one of his projects, there are probably only three people I would even consider subscribing to and he ain't one of them.

I had a failed effort at supporting Paul Carpenter in his Patreon effort. I am already backing Will and Jackson. That is enough subscriptions for me. Perhaps someone like Lotrek or maybe even Lorenzo could pry me into another subscription, but that is it at this point. And, I seriously doubt either plans to go down that route. Not interested, but wish him all the best.

What to think of this project? Hmmm... I have backed one of his campaigns - the Japanese Masks one and can say that what he produces are overpriced decks made by an inferior printer. I also do not like the hype he is trying to surround his campaigns with. Setting the campaign goals really low, talking about his cards as being aimed at the discerning collector and generally acting like he is God’s gift to earth is a major turn off.

Probably the easiest pass in my collector life.

Except for the fact that this isn't a genuine subscription. He's just selling decks that have already been designed (like crap) AND produced (by a 3rd tier printer).

He sucks, this "subscription" sucks, and his "subscribers" suck!

I wish Penguin Magic brought back their subscription service. Kevin did a fine job curating that one.

Did anyone see the Jacks & Jokers subscription on KS like last week? They had the audacity to advertise and sell other people's decks...so I got them suspended for breaking KS rules, can't sell what isn't yours!

Has Dylan honestly no sense of shame and humility?? or even a shred of decency? Honestly, I'm genuinely curious considering the fact that many of these decks were produced through funding of backers pledging, in some cases, over TRIPLE (!!!) what he is now offering them at through this "subscription" - what a way to really stab backers in the back and especially after all that pathetic hype to find what little justification for demanding such high premiums for his inferior decks in the first place! only to now flagrantly campaign this "subscription" in a thinly veiled attempt to dump the leftover stock - this really is an all-time new low, even for him. :x

ummm, exactly where in the Jacks & Jokers campaign were specific decks explicitly being sold?? Because other than the campaign pic (which, as stated on the project page literally below the image, is JUST an "Example of Ultimate Tier" and I'm assuming only posted to show what kind of quality of decks you can expect so backers aren't stuck with KardKraken decks or the likes) nowhere was it written that those were the ones you'd be receiving nor were any other specific decks listed for sale. Actually, Simon made the deliberate decision not to and even went as far as to include blank graphics just to clarify the nature of the subscription. Hell, he even answered a backer's question and in doing so further clarified that this was not a personal order in which you had a choice of decks but, like in a true subscription model, you - along with everyone else - would get what was offered that month depending on what tier you pledged at.

BESIDES, the point of the Jacks & Jokers subscription was not necessarily solely a campaign aimed to sell off other people's decks anyways (because, unlike these KardKraken decks, I'm sure most of the decks offered in this particular subscription honestly wouldn't need to be peddled and can easily sell themselves), but rather to offer a service specifically tailored towards European/international card collectors that would allow them to avoid the inconvenience and hassle of international shipping & the hefty VAT/import taxes that are often attached with such purchases, along with some other extra bonuses that came with membership. I'm really disappointed to see this project suspended and, tbh, peeved that you saw it necessary to go outta your way to maliciously report it under such misguided and ill-informed pretences - shame on you too, Victor.

Victor: the Jacks & Jokers project was discussed here on the boards. Why didn't you talk with him about it either privately or, for that matter, openly here on the forum rather than jumping straight to getting him suspended on KS?

I dont even understand why it got taken down. its a kickstarter for a subscription box club not for any deck/decks in particular. Much like Will Roya's same thing and many many other subscription boxes none of which claim to be selling their own product....

Because Victor is a freaking b-hole who thinks he's the internet's Playing Card Police and doesn't care an iota for the consequences of his actions. His infrequent comments here typically make me sick.

I'll step away, now...

Hello, everyone, I am back here to listen and learn! I have got great feedback from the veterans on here, so please keep it coming. I want to start off by replying to Eric Lee. I hate to see any of my backers disappointed, so I would like to offer you some decks from my future USPCC campaign. These are completely free and if you do not want them, then I can also offer a refund, just let me know on Kickstarter. Next, I want to answer the question that is being posed by several people on the thread. The answer is this subscription is aimed for future not past decks and the subscribers that joined are looking forward to my next decks with their subscription because they have all backed some of my previous projects. Lastly, the reason for the low goal is because this is an ongoing project that I was inspired to make to give back to my fans. I got a few subscribers this time around, but I am hoping to make that small group into 100 or so in the future. I hope this clears some things up and
I wish everyone the best!

Because he was clearly showing/advertising decks that he didn't produce and that is a Kickstarter no-no clearly. You are not allowed to resell other creators decks on KS clearly and that is exactly what he was doing.
