Hey guys,
So I'm kind of interested to see who else on these forums is into comics. I've been a long time reader since I was like 5 and still pick up weekly issues from my local comic shop in town.
I'm a marvel person at heart but man in my opinion DC is the top dog. Fill out the questions to give me a better insider on the topic! Maybe we can have weekly discussions on current events/issues going on in the comic world.

I'll go first!

Favorite Superheros:
Green Lantern, Batman, Captain America, The Darkness, Nightwing, every autobot known to man

Favorite villains:
Shockwave, scarecrow, carnage, The Darkness

Favorite story event of all time:
Blackest Night

Favorite story event currently running:
Death in the family and Rise of the third army

Favorite Comic Company:
DC and Marvel

Favorite Writer:
Stan Lee (met him twice btw : D) and Geoff Johns

Whats on your weekly pull list?:
Here are my monthly issues that I get
- Transformers: Regeneration One
- Green Lantern
- Green Lantern Corps
- Red Lantern
- Batman
- Nightwing
- The Darkness
- Threshold
- Aquaman
- Spider-man
- Artifacts

Looking forward to seeing your answers! Be sure to let me know what everyone would like to talk about weekly : D

I only started reading a few graphic novels about 5 years ago. So far I have read:

1. The Walking Dead
2. Powers
3. Locke & Key
4. New Frontier
5. Y: The Last Man
6. Runaways
7. Chew
8. Watchmen
9. The Goon
10. Strikeforce: Morituri
11. Incorruptible / Irredeemable

------

I'm not big on 'Superhero' comics even though I enjoy the one-offs like 'Red Son' and 'New Frontier'. Also, I don't like weekly comics, I prefer to read them in collected books of 12-24 issues.

I enjoy superheroes, but whenever I consider getting into comics I just get overwhelmed by how much has happened that I don't know about and the amount of previous/on-going story lines. Then I scream like a little girl and hide back under my rock.

I'm a big DC and Image guy. I've actually studied Batman for doctorate theses at uni, so obviously have a pretty full on fascination with his stuff, and even more so his villains, from The Joker to Calendar man, I love them all. My other favourite comics are Invincible, Walking Dead, Thief of Thieves, pretty much EVERY New 52 franchise, Spiderman, Iron Man and X-Men.

RE: Magikfingerz, if you're looking to get into superhero comics (I don't know when you last tried), the New 52 is a great way to do it. They basically started the entire line again from scratch, with a brand new canon. Makes it really easy to jump on board, as we're barely a year in!

Yes! Dc's New 52 is an amazing way to break into comics. Like Frequenter said, its a fresh new start to that universe. Some characters have a new take on their origins, characters who were dead are back etc etc

You can go to any shop and get the soft cover books to catch you up since they are only on issue #16 for each character. The new 52 only started last Oct so you can def catch up in no time.

As for The Walking Dead, I read up to Vol. 7 or 8 and loved it. However, in my preference the show is so much better when it comes to character development. Can't wait till it comes back on air next month!

This will probably age me but I was/am a fan of the work of both Bill Sienkiewicz, for the wildness of his fractured panels, and of Dave McKean, for his intense illustration. A couple of my favourite examples are Sienkiewicz's "Elektra Assassin" and Mckean's "Arkham Asylum".

One of my favourite characters has always been Wolverine.

Another thing that keeps me from getting into comics is the actual reading, which I find tedious because I have to do it on a computer (Norway is not big on American comics). Are any motion comics you would recommend? I saw the motion comic for Astonishing X-men in my free month of Netflix, and I loved it!

Hey guys,

I love the Marvel/DC universe. I have some comics, but not many.

I have started collecting the Eaglemoss lead figurines. These things are AWESOME!
They are HEAVY for their size.

They have over 100 DC characters, and over 200 Marvel characters already released.

Here's the DC figurines
http://www.eaglemoss.com/dc/figurines.html

and the list of already releasedDC figurines

Here's the Marvel figurines
http://marvel-figurines.co.uk/figurines.html

and the list of already released Marvel figurines
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Classic_Marvel_Figurine_Collection

Every figurine comes with a magazine sized history of the character

I have about 8-9 figurines so far. Some of them are much larger special edition ones.. like the Sentinel in my pics.

Here are pics of some of mine

I'm also a Spawn fan. And I'm very happy with this figurine...

I had a bunch of original Spawn figures and Marvel stuff and even some orig Ninja Turtle toys, but I have been selling them all off on ebay to pay for my card and Star Wars addiction.

Right now I am selling my Brett Booth Teen Titan set, the title got boring for me and I felt, I'd rather make money on them then keep them.

But I still got ALL of my original SPAWN, I even have a few issue #1's and some rare Spawn cards (and pogs?)

Yaya Han! http://yayahan.com/index.php?option=com ... &Itemid=66" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Jordan Hembrough http://www.travelchannel.com/tv-shows/toy-hunter" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Jay Lee is an insane artist http://comicbookdb.com/creator.php?ID=735" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

and Neal Adams is legendary http://comicbookdb.com/creator.php?ID=374" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Sorry, that's not a lot of artists, there's a lot in there I don't know. I do collect the Tony Moore title and the Shawn Crytsal and they are certainly both awesome as well.
