The Tuck: Fairly simple and nice.
The Back: Big fan (no pun).
The Cards: Far from standard, unique, and very well done.
The Price: Not even close, sorry.

If these were $12 or less, and the creator knew how to get printed by USPCC, I would be all over these. At that price, I can't think twice, though.

Aside from that awful price and the extremely low funding goal (always makes me question motives) I wish the courts were 2-way.

I liked them until I saw price of the deck and the goal.

I try to avoid including negative comments in the first initial post of a new project as to not taint anyone's first impression and to allow people to form their own opinions upon checking out the campaign for themselves, but this project has A LOT of red flags: first-time creator, absolutely no online presence of these designers other than this campaign (really odd), super low funding goal, no mention of printer, no plan of action in how this project is going to be completed, and literally 3 complete sentences in the entire campaign - I understand wanting one's work to speak for itself, but this all just doesn't add up.

With that said, the designs are great; but just not enough to make me want to join this three-ring circus.

I think that's nice of you not to want to reap negativity on this campaign or others but keep in mind that if you notice red flags and DON'T say anything, you could be doing a disservice to someone who saw your post, pledged, and ended up getting screwed because he did see any warnings. But I might be more of a pessimist than you are :ugthink:

Reposts aren't endorsements and I think it's a lot to ask of Amy, or any other party unrelated to the campaign, to want her to take responsibility for another user not reading carefully and critically before pledging.

I think trying to keep thread-opening posts in a neutral tone is the right call. Don't get me wrong, I love a good dogpile, but if the OP is the one to kick it off it just reads like she's teeing up a three-minute hate instead of a productive discussion.

I never said I wouldn't say anything to warn of red-flags; my post was written with that exact purpose in mind: as a warning to people of the red-flags I noticed...

I only meant that I reserve overly negative judgment from the initial post (which usually is posted on the same day of the KS launch, such as this one was) to keep it neutral and just about the campaign/cards to allow others to take a look and make a judgement for themselves - free of negative preconceived notions that might influence their first impression of the project and/or their decision to pledge, which may very well be detrimental to a campaign's overall success. I most def would advise against a pledge of a shady campaign that was close to the end of the funding period to express concerns that hadn't already been addressed and, of course without a doubt, if I genuinely believed it was going to screw backers later on. But on the very first day of launch, I try to keep the initial post as impartial as I would any other campaign to a.) give the project a fair fighting chance in the arena of public opinion and b.) as a courtesy to the creator (perhaps they do update within the first 48 hours or address concerns expressed - and if they care to seek out feedback, this thread was made here for just that purpose).

Besides, a person making a rash, injudicious pledge based solely on the design of the cards alone - without any thought or consideration to the other aspects of a project necessary for completion - has the entire duration of the campaign to drop their pledge at any time (in this case, 21 days); usually, it doesn't take that long for someone to notice the red-flags themselves and to raise concerns they might have during that time directly to the creator in the comments section of the KS campaign; or alternatively, if those pledging or potentially pledging cared to look for outside perspective, others usually are quick to voice their opinions and the red-flags they notice (as done so already in the comments above).

1) I think you misunderstood what she was getting at. 2) It's not her responsibility to warn people just because she's the one posting the project.

I think you all misunderstood what I was trying to say. I never tried to imply that Pipchick be a screener of questionable KS's or slam people in OP's. All I was trying to say is that if someone has reason to question a sketchy campain that they speak up. I'm not saying to do it harshly and I'm not saying it has to be in the OP. I'm just saying that if you have reason to question a KS campaign for any reason it would behoove someone to speak their mind, not to bring down a creator but to possibly save fellow collectors.

And she does exactly that... So where's the problem?

I think it's pretty clear that you (we) all are on the same team regarding these issues. Excessive negativity is bad, pointing out red flags is good. Let's not continue further off topic, eh guys? :)

naaw, it simply started with a warning post about mentioning red-flags in response to my warning post about the red-flags I noticed to remind me and others to remember to always warn people of red-flags noticed when posting - not so complicated, amiright? LOL

so in short, remember kids: ...always salt your water when boiling pasta

I didn't mean to start anything- Pipchick didn't do anything wrong. I was just trying to dispel the belief that criticism is bad. But I think we're all on the same page so.. [BACON]

Life is like a box of chocolates. They disappear fast and the last ones are full of nuts.

That was off topic, but somehow seemed appropriate.

I quite like this deck design wise. If they could confirm a decent printer I would definitely be a backer but for now ill keep watching from afar. With the funding goal as low as it is and the price as high as it is I am forced to assume its MPC and that makes it a pass for now.

This is what a Sideshow deck should look like.
