Hi Spectre
Yes, we are launching Vegas V2 Diffractor Playing Cards on June 6th.
Over the last couple of months we have had a re-branding. From now on our playing cards type will be called ‘Diffractor’ playing cards, by VXD International. So any deck that is made in future using this patented tech will be prefaced or suffixed with ‘Diffractor’ in the name to reflect the specific type. For anyone that doesn’t know, the process by which holographics are produced, is diffraction of light. Refraction of light is similar (rainbows, the prism etc), but not exactly the same. So we thought it would be fitting to give our playing card type a scientifically accurate commercial name, which we are currently trademarking.
We are flat out on new design elements, arrangements with the 4 factories involved and marketing, but I will be posting a new thread to officially give (1 month) notice on UC and also to existing backers on KS, on the 6th May, at which point we will give some early information about the release. There are some really nice upgrades and we've made sure there is something for everyone this time
Cheers

This is a campaign I am really looking forward to participate. This technology really is groundbreaking for playing cards.

Vasta - Affirmative!
Bradius - We do think so. Things are in the pipeline that are going to surprise people, I can say that with near certainty. The pieces are coming together.
Just for clarification, which I should have done in the post above, with further reference to the evolution of the branding: While all decks from now on will be 'Diffractor' decks, one of those First Day Issue units, released late last year, will be the only ones known as a 'Vertex Deck'.
Regards

This looks interesting and good timing in June. Gives us backers a breather from the few recent large campaigns.

Please oh pretty please make sure your ducks are in a row this time BEFORE you launch. Unforeseen things can always happen but to avoid the disaster you encountered last year, please do not forget to heed the "6 P's of Life": prior planning prevents piss-poor performance.
Having said that, looking forward to these!

I find that insulting. We produced something that none of the other playing card producers on earth have ever attempted....and at factories no one on here has ever heard of. Go and have a look at the comments section on our VERTEX DECK KS (particularly from Superbackers - some who have backed 500+ playing card projects) to see what they thought of our prior planning and our final delivery.

I don't think Vasta was referring to the cards themselves. From what I've seen, the cards turned out great!
I think he was referring to the standard tuck disaster from the last campaign. I, like Vasta and others, was disappointed when I found out the standard tuck decks were a "no-go." I hope they will be possible this time around.
I don't think Vasta meant it as an insult at all. I think it was only a precaution to ensure that whatever you're planning to do this time actually gets done.

Exactly. The cards themselves look phenomenal and look like they took a lot of time and effort to make. I would love to own them. In fact I
tried to own them but due to lack of
prior planning I couldn't. I am 100% referring to the tuck cases. And in general- don't bite off more than you can chew. It's standard advise and I give it because I can tell you're very passionate about your project and I just don't want you desire and drive to push the envelope exceed the limit of what's actually possible (last year's tuck disaster is an example).
I also find it insulting that you tell me to read comments about what other people thought of your final delivery when I pledged for your deck and never even received a final delivery! After a process I did end up receiving a discount so "water under the bridge" I say and let's let bygones be bygones. The fact that you are still actively here defending and promoting your product speaks volumes to me. And that's why I will be backing this project again. But I don't think I'm out of line to be skeptical until a deck of these cards (in a standard tuck case) is in my hands.

Yes I understood that backers of the traditional tuck decks were the only ones that were disappointed. But actually what happened was that we had planned, very effectively, for years, the design and manufacture of these special cards and also our bespoke metal cases. Then at the last minute (shortly following announcement of the launch on here), we were asked (quite strongly) to produce traditional tucks in addition to what we had carefully planned. Our only mistake was to accept and try to accommodate, which you will appreciate was very short notice to fulfill.
Anyway, yes, let's park that and look to the future. I appreciate your pledge the first time around and we'll be very happy to have you on board again if that happens. I will guarantee you right now that we will fulfill what we couldn't last time as regards the tucks....and a lot more too
Regards

I'm sorry but I cannot appreciate this because it was never actually fulfilled BUT...

...I do appreciate this. Looking forward to it!

I am going to get at least one deck for sure.
I am curious about the future though. Could we see a 100 % custom deck printed with this technology in the future? If so, how would it work? Would you release the decks in collabration with the select artists or is this technology going to be available to whoever wishes to produce a deck with it?

This is a great idea! But I imagine they would be pretty expensive. Maybe $20-25? Or $250 for Jackson's decks

Hey Roope
Glad to hear you'll be on board

Good thinking re upcoming developments. Personalisation services, utilising the new developments in digital print finishing capabilities perhaps as well....more for the magicians and cardists than the card-collectors of course, but it opens new avenues in general in terms of the decks out there and their scarcity! As I said before in a post, there are some BIG developments occurring in the printing world at the moment and we will be right at the front with our factories, to bring all these new possibilities to the playing card industry.
