About 1 year ago, award winning GOLDEN OATH playing cards was released: The first deck ever printed exclusively with hot stamped foils, which now is almost impossible to find.
Before the final printing Lotrek printed a limited run of 50 prototype decks that are slightly different from the final version: The stock is embossed on the faces' side, the back design has a red border around the gold frame -which in the final version was gone- and the varnish is also different.
Today, April 29 at 5:00pm EDT, these 50 prototypes will be sold through his website for $80/deck, including shipping. There is a strict limit of 2 decks per person
The decks will be in a plain red stock tuck case, hand numbered and signed.

Not really into prototype decks, but I might just have to get this one.
What I’m really waiting for is the royal edition

In the posts for Golden Oath, Lotrek made mention of a Royal Oath deck.
"P.S.: For a really crazy tuck, wait for the "ROYAL EDITION": 50 decks in total, blue stock, same faces, gold + silver foil on the back. But don't tell anyone..."
can be found here....

I'm still hoping to one day have such a deck in my collection too, but as Lotrek also mentions in that thread, he has ideas for a number of other project also. We'll see in which direction the Master goes......

The site is up now. I nearly missed this sale. I got a "sponsor" advertisement on gmail, which I NEVER look at. However, I noticed this one was from Oath, so I opened it. I am sure glad I did. I hope others managed to get a deck or two as well. I am glad there was a post about the sale here.
That was a really small issue. All I could do was click to buy as fast as it came up and fly as fast as I could to close my sale. I had no time to find out how many were left after the sale. By the time I looked again, it was sold out. Wow.
I was order 10691.

Great news! Will you send tracking numbers or will you give them upon request?

Just got my prototype deck in the mail today. I’ve gotta say... It’s pretty hard to take it out of the box. Not because I want to preserve the deck and keep it in pristine condition. I mean it’s really physically hard to take out the deck. I had to get a hold of a few cards, pull them out, and then take out the rest of the cards. Other than that, it’s great.

Agreed on that score... partly.
I got a pair of these. One was exceptionally snug in its tuck, while the other quite easy to remove — as it was missing the entirety of the clubs court!

That is interesting Stepchild as I just got my decks today and one of my decks was a bit loose and it too was missing all of the club courts!

I just got my decks yesterday afternoon. This morning I go on eBay and already two of 60 are being offered up for sale. I don’t mind collectors eventually selling their stock, but folks snapping these up just to resale them for a quick buck is getting out of hand.

agreed it's quite hard to get the cards out. One trick is to open both side of the tuck box and push the cards out lol

akicer is correct. Open both sides and push them out. I will not admit how long it look me to figure that out! And if you do take them out, you will have even more fun putting them back in.

@ Bradius and Stepchild:
How crazy is that? I checked them one by one, they were only 60 after all...
I'm sending you the missing courts right away.
Since you don't like the cards to get in and out of the box easily!
Seriously now, I put them in a tight box because they were a bit bent and I wanted them to be kept as tight as possible. Maybe not the greatest idea in history though...

Bent cards? This calls for reprint!

I am going to club you with my missing courts. Just my four club courts please.
Seriously, I am amazed that we were both missing the same cards! Besides that, surely you would have noticed you didn't need to stuff them in with a shoehorn. I mean...honestly.
On the other hand...I have...I have... one of only
TWO KNOWN error decks! Dang, let me put that out on eBay! I can ask for...let's see a newly discovered Lotrek error...
