I have a dream that one day people will stop making this minimalistic crap. Here's a news flash: It's always crap! It does not work in playing cards! Stop!

I'll buy it if it comes with a pack of no-bleed markers so I can color them in myself.

The most difficult thing in playing card design is to make a good minimalistic deck. A deck that won't make people think: "where are the courts?" or "what happened to the pips?" or "lazy boy"...

This isn't the most terrible minimalist deck I've ever seen, the stylized courts and spot cards are OK. The problem is he's apparently catering to cardists, and that back design is totally not right for cardistry. He shows a fan that he admits is bad, but it isn't bad because of his lack of skill, its bad because there's nothing in the design elements that would lend itself to producing any type of interesting fans or spreads. At least with USPCC printing and the spare black and white ink saturation, the handling should be good, but that alone probably won't be enough.

@VandeR, Are you associated with the campaign?

Your two posts are on this thread, in the first you appear third-person from the campaign, but your response to sinjin7's comments indicates the project could be yours?

I checked it out...it DOESN'T look gr8!

As of this post, there are 31 crazy people willing to throw money at this project.

I agree with the masses that this deck does not look "gr8".

In fact, it looks very bad, intentionally. What is the point of removing pips in select locations on select cards..? If you're going to create a "minimalist" deck then charge me a minimalist price. These are worth < half of what you're asking for (if that).

Well, it is to be printed by USPCC. However, as a card collector and player, I go for artistic cads and not cardistry and minimalist decks. Thanks, but not my cup of tea. Good luck with the campaign.

No one else noticed the back design seems like a modified Stripes deck, not very original imo.

At least they say it‘s inspired by Vasarely while the Stripe deck is actually Vasarely‘s artwork without giving any credit.
