I know this was mentioned in the Club 808 thread, but there's been a pic released today so I thought I'd give the deck it's own thread

Aw...When you said "Griffin" I thought it'd be this:
Has Bicycle really been trusted since 1885? I distinctly recall in 1972 nobody trusted anybody......

With what we've seen in the last few months, I think they need to work a bit harder on quality control to keep using that moniker/slogin - that or start refusing work so they can ensure they continue to make a quality product, as it appears to have started slipping...imho

Mike, do you have any idea if BMP is going to be selling this deck and other 808 club decks that come out?

I am not sure. From the looks of things, it will only be available to members and i am not sure if you will be able to buy it in large quantities if it is only available to members.
Thanks!

Personally I would be against resellers selling these cards as they are supposed to be for members only.

So far, I'm not very impressed. The box is plain. I'm just hoping that the back design is nice.

Seems likely. They look like the same griffins.

I'm guessing they'll be green, but I hope they're doing more than just a color change. The box seems to suggest something more, though they could just be pulling a T11.

Was just checking club 808 site and looks like Griffin is for sale now. Don't think I got an email notifying me. What is that they say about blind squirrels? Anyway, $5.99 per deck and you can order a maximum of 6. They also had several pictures, but not sure how to load to post or the protocol on using someone elses photos.
Here was the info they had posted:
"The Griffin Deck features green foil printing on the tuck with embossing on the front panel for the text and Griffin image. The back design was unearthed from the USPC archives and was originally used on No. 500 Playing Cards.
This is a Limited Edition deck that is available exclusively to Club 808 Members. The seal on the top of the tuck is a Club 808 seal showing the production quantity of 5,000 decks.
Maximum of 6 decks per member."

Thanks for the heads-up, stelwibe
They don't really have any clear photos of the backs, but I can see they have a custom 808 club seal which is kinda cool.

I had $15 for just 2 decks internationally. These are dark times indeed.
