I'm not sure why, but looking at this deck makes me hungry. My dog likes it too...

This looks awesome, Montenzi!

One thing though; the two pics in your last post basically shows 2 different decks, because a deck like this would need to be reverse-fanned to produce the "alternative" pattern. But I assume this is just one deck, in which case - which way will the back design be? Will it be borderless in the top left/bottom right, or top right/bottom left?

Yes you are right! I just did not want to edit my 3D model in order to show the reverse fan (I'll do it anyway). Correct pattern - red corner on the top left.

Thanks for clearing that up. Although I was initially hoping it was the other way around, I think your way is better. Looks more "right" just looking at the back design, and most people being less good at reverse fans than regular fans - the borderless side should mitigate that somewhat.

I barely buy decks at all these days, but these will be an insta-buy for me :D

The Ultra edition is absolutely amazing! The wave looks good too and I'll probably be getting both. Great work!

I've loved every project of yours I've seen so far. I'm definitely in for this one.

Bring on the foil and metallics!

Oh, and I think that borderless on one side and bordered on the other is a bit of an innovation. I like the way you're doing it. :)

Oh yes thanks for all the comments!

1. What about the name? NEO:WAVES or NEO:WAVE? I think waveS is a little better

2. Fan direction - good point. I like both versions so I think waves should be on the borderless side. Will decide later

3. Cartamundi? :ugthink: maybe maybe. The only issue - I want a top quality box for this deck not just a plain one. It could add 100% to the price and even 200-300% for small quantities. At this monent I know how to add cold foil (even with gradients) for this ULTRA edition but I don't want to print the deck in China. It could be just Cartamundi if they are able to offer almost everything I want (with optional Cold Foil). Or USPCC - with a tuck box upgrade OR I can try to print the box in China or use 3rd party in the US. 60% probability that I'll print with Cartamundi. Still want to keep it simple so I hope Cartamundi is a way to go.

4. It could be just one deck release. If so the ULTRA edition will be printed first.

5. One of the most important part of the project - court cards. They will be custom and must be perfect :ugdance: so I cannot show them now

thanks

1. I think WAVE is better. Like I already said somewhere else; less is more :)

2. I like how it is now.

3. I can absolutely understand this. Though I would be very happy to see a display deck edition, that just have a plain tuck and costs much less. I'd really want to use these cards, and I wouldn't want to pay a premium for buying several. I would definitely buy more decks if this was a possibility!

2. Cartamundi.

Loving it and waiting to have a peek at the courts.

On getting the box printed in one country and cards in another, I will say don't go for it. It increases logistical complexity and you might even face issue with cards not fitting in the tuck as tight as they should be. Go with Cartamundi all in or get the cards printed with USPC while getting the tucks printed through Clove St. press.

PS: I like WAVE too.

I would usually say USPCC but Cartamundi has been doing so well the past few decks I've tried Ravn & Touch. The ultra edition comes off to me as more of a luxury edition. :D

So... in order for the cards to be playable, you'll want to have that identical bleed on all of your cards, not just the Kings. Otherwise, it'll be too easy for people to be able to detect the card type even when they can't see the faces.

The only issue - costs. It's well above $20k for two decks. But I have other ideas  Current probability to print with Cartamudi - 80%

Yes you are right! Waves will be be different in the middle of the card. Something like this (still a sketch):

Huh.

Yeah, on this deck, I don't think the bordered version works anywhere near as well.

However, I know others will disagree with me and, if you offer a choice, then that's fine by me! I'll be favoring the version(s) without borders. :)
