I think he was just counting the first set as two different versions, ie this will be the third deck, not set.vasta41 wrote:Pardon me but what was version 2?
Aahh- gotchya. To me, the Cage Garden decks is that illusive set that I don't think I'll ever obtain... If I ever get them I think I'll retire from playing card collecting. I might even consider trading my Jerry's Nugget for them.MagikFingerz wrote:I think he was just counting the first set as two different versions, ie this will be the third deck, not set.vasta41 wrote:Pardon me but what was version 2?
Yeah, I'm curious to see what they have planned for this one. Make it limited and rare repeating what they did with the first set, or go for higher quantities and try to feed off of the potential lust for it that the first one may have sparked.darkinertia wrote:in the words of antonio esfaniari, "why so much??" lol
its a nice looking deck, but it looks like its just a deck to make resellers rich. and if it is true that the deck handles like crap, i dont see the big deal...but i guess i know that if i just want to make a killing i should just go on zazzle, make a couple custom decks, print them off and call them ultra rare?
that said, if its a production run and around 6-8 bucks, im in.

USPCC minimum printing quantity -- 2500 decks were printing.lumpyliew wrote:Limited? Nice and rare deck !
vasta41 wrote:While all the "hard-to-get" lure definitely makes me want the deck more, I personally have ALWAYS liked the style/ looks of this deck (faces, back and box) since I first laid my eyes on it. I don't know why but for some reason I have a soft-spot for black and white versions of playing cards (in fact, I think this is one of the only black and white sets out there I don't have).
The reason why I don't have this set is because it costs too much. Even at $70 when I first saw it I thought it was too much. I feel the same way about the Dreamcatcher deck... I don't know why I like it so much and I don't know why it's $50 but at that price tag, I don't think I'll ever own it. It's just not worth it. I'd rather spend the money on other decks I like.

2500 is the min run now. not back then.stelwibe wrote:May be a dumb question, but I thought USPCC only did minimum runs of 2,500. Even if 2 different backs count in same run, what happened to other 1,500 decks? Or do you just pay for 2,500 but only have 1,000 printed?
In 2009, the lowest USPCC printing quantity is 1000 decks.stelwibe wrote:May be a dumb question, but I thought USPCC only did minimum runs of 2,500. Even if 2 different backs count in same run, what happened to other 1,500 decks? Or do you just pay for 2,500 but only have 1,000 printed?
You can do different tuck boxes. Different colour backs is a different print run, as is different paper stocks. Not sure about gilded but I think that is done after the fact so probably yes (and I know CCCC did a short run of gilded Hornets so that's probably correct).stelwibe wrote:One last dumb question (at least on this thread). On Kickstarter, some people do "limited" decks less than 2,500. I guess there are some changes you can make to be able to have portion of 2,500 be a little different. Like maybe tuck box? Change paper stock (like gilded)? Can you split 2,500 between 2 different colored backs (same design, just print color change) and still have "one production run"? I will quit hijacking thread after this. Just new to hobby and trying to learn.
Cage garden 1st. As said, I may be going to China in the not to far future or I can have someone pick one up if I know they are still availible.Fingerdance wrote:walrus wrote:Finger Dance, Is the Cage Garden still availible retail in China.
