In a similar way, Will got Runic Royalty and Chicken Playing Cards done by USPCC. He puts his own money for production n fulfillment costs apart from Kickstarter funding goal.

Guru is correct, my company will finance up to 50% of the print run so we have cards available for retail. This keeps goals lower, gives the project more of a chance of funding, the backers a chance at the deck 1st and at a reduced cost and left over decks for me to hopefully make a profit. I personally enjoy the process of creating decks and helping other creators bring their decks to fruition.

How do you get throw when backers cancel / decrease their pledges? I know that this isn't personal and there are many reasons, but this is such depressing... One of the things I learned with this project - monitoring campaign progress is even harder than drawing a deck

Sasha, it's a part of the process. I don't know why, but every campaign loses at least a few of the early backers. Finances and all that, I suppose?

Package came today with my decks (that I was expecting), a colouring book, and a stack of postcards (which I wasn't).

Absolutely adore these.

I received my decks as well, and they are fabulous.
