Hello Fellow Cardists,
As an introduction, Pamela and I enjoy inventing games as well as playing them, especially CARD games. We are in the process of completing our own 65-card deck of fantasy cards. The illustrations for our 65 Gametasia Cards will be completed in the next 90 days.
Pamela just published her first fantasy/sci-fi novel, Girl In Two Worlds, this past summer. I recently completed an RPG book, Heroes From Earth, and a 228-page atlas of our fantasy planet, Millennium, titled: Atlas of Millennium.
Here is a synopsis of our fledgling card company:
GAMETASIA® is a playing card and tabletop game company from Southern California. Their debut card deck, Gametasia Cards, features 65 fantasy cards based on the characters from the branded story world of Millennium. The custom deck of illustrated cards features five games: Gametasia Chess, Poker Chess, Poker With Jokers, Eight Treasures, and Vocabulary Battle. These are fast-paced, strategic wagering games of skill and luck that you, your family and friends, can play in 1 hour or less.
We will visit this site often and see what is going on in the world of cards.
Namaste,
Mel and Pamela Wayne

Hi UC family ~
As a new user, I will like to Introduce myself. My name is Paul, a connoisseur of unique and original art playing cards. Along with a partner of mine, we have created a new set of playing cards and board game. The project, The Right of Kings, will be launching soon on Kickstarter. We would like to share a preview with the UC family before we launch and would love your feedback and support of our project.
The Right of Kings introduces a new set of playing cards, together with a new game called The ROK. The new deck variations, Medieval and Renaissance, can also be used as a regular playing card set. Decks also include additional cards that become part of the board game which enrich the Right of Kings Experience.
The Right of Kings is the first part of what will become a legacy of games that will surely delight card collectors, avid players, and families alike.
Please visit
http://theRightofKings.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to preview our Kickstarter. We would love for you to become part of this unique and exciting experience.
Thank you,
Paul

Hello everybody,
I'm Sérgio.
I'm from Portugal and I'm a card collector.
I've always loved playing cards, but I've only started collecting them last year.
I've read some posts in UC and I like the spirit of the users, always sharing information and helping each other.
I think this forum is an important part of the card enthusiasts community and I wish all the best to you all.
Keep up the good work.
Sérgio

Hello. I'm very new to cardistry, magic, and collecting cards. I've got hooked on watching folks on YouTube like Chris Ramsay and others and obtaining cards is becoming an obsession. I'm not thinking that my wife likes this new hobby so much, but I'm thinking it will cool down after I get a sizable collection. Who knows, but I'm having fun for now.

Hello,
My name is Jon and I have recently become interested in the history of card games and its variants.
I have been looking into As-Nas and particularly Mughal Ganjifa after acquiring a rare deck of cards by chance at a junk market.
A near complete set of boxed Mughal Ganjifa cards which I have had informally verified by a former curator at the Ashmolean Museum as being 19th Century Rajasthani.
If you would like to see the beginnings of the story have a look here:

More to follow...
Thanks.

Hi Saramia,
welcome! We're really glad to have you join us! You'll find the community to be super engaging and we'd also love to see the deck your husband is currently working on (we too all love card design lol) and perhaps could help him in his progress of the deck's development by providing some valuable insight and feedback! Anyways, it's also great to have another sister in the hobby - hey girl, hey! lol

Hi Jon,
we're also glad to have you too join - welcome!
I find Ganjifa cards also pretty interesting but have yet to actually own a deck myself
but your 19th century set looks AMAZING!!
pleasepleaseplease share more pics in the
'Show us your Cards' section and let us know if you're planning on doing any restoration to the cards - I'd be super interested to see/hear more about your journey with this deck.
Also, you might find guru to have some very interesting decks - completely 100% handmade - check out the thread about 'em
here; one of our other members just recently posted pics of his newly acquired deck in the same thread and it is just simply gorgeous.

Posting the obligatory "First post". I use Portfolio52, ebay, etc. to collect cards. And I use the internet in general. It's nice.

I've posted an intro message and 2 or 3 responses, yet none have shown up.
Is there a problem with my posts or am I just being impatient?
thanks!

The simple answer is that we curate the first post for every single user, which let's us weed out the SPAM and bots - mostly.
If you happen to write two or more messages before you have your first post approved, they will all wait for a moderator to approve one or another before they show up. Nothing is lost, although it is possible that duplicates will be eliminated (or you might win moderation on your first post).

Thanks for the responses.
My firewall was blocking one of your associated sites, with the result being I had to login every few page loads!
So I didn't know if perhaps my posts got eaten or flagged somehow.
Otherwise (I like to think) I would have been more patient

Hello, it's Duane from Los Angeles. I like card design and cardistry. But overall, fastinated will all things cards. My collection is starting off small as I don't have a lot of space. For now I aspire to design my own cards in the future.
Does anybody know how long it takes to get approved for your first post? I left a post a couple hours ago and it pretty much vanished.
-cheers
