So some of us spent money on this new project for sub-par decks and now the actual deck is being shipped out? Bit of a waste, for me anyway.

Is this just for American backers though, or for everyone?
There was no note included, and I've seen no updates anywhere, so your guess is as good as mine. I *do* hope it's an indication that other backers will receive their decks soon, as well.

That was a good read. Makes me ask the question: If he paid the fines why send out the decks. Sounds like he had the decks all along and was sitting upon a throne of cards.

Likewise, with regard to Adam. I never received my refund for Green Army.

Thanks!

Maybe he's trying to fulfill the project to avoid paying the penalties?

That was my thought too. and I think Washington State gets to sign for theirs so he has proof of delivery.

So, I just barely missed out on the KS campaign for the original deck (back in fall of 2012). That was probably for the best, considering!
But I sent the campaign a message in early 2013 asking if they would let me know if/when they had any extra decks to sell....

Lo and behold... TODAY, I got a message from Ed Nash himself ("Altius Management") asking if I was "still interested in purchasing some of these decks?".

um.... i think... not.

He actually sent all backers a message, or two, recently about addresses and what not, was shocked to receive any messages from him. He actually had the gall to re-state what he had said before, that he always intended to fulfill the project, which is bs because it wouldn't have taken 4 years to fulfill!

I guess he has been forced by court to fulfill. The decks i had received were produced in 2012 by the usps.

You know what....
I got my cards.
There are a lot of decks I can't say that about.
I don't care his reasoning, he sent them out.

To quote a large red fonted slogan I have seen posted on another thread

"I just wanted my God damn cards"

Not trying to necropost, what started as an interest in finding out why there were two asylum decks has actually led me to discover that a KS "scam" was brought to justice in the olden days. Is there any old collector souls that lived through this saga who would like to share what ya'll did to force he guy to fulfill the decks? I do recall a certain someone who has ghosted backers on multiple campaigns.

I don’t think he ever really did - it was Noir Arts that ended up making good on it as I understand.

Max from Max Playing Cards did an interesting article/interview which provides some info on how the original scam occurred, and how the new deck came to fruition.

https://www.maxplayingcards.com/en/2015 ... r-readers/

I remember chatting with Milan, the innocent creator of the deck, on Reddit about it. He couldn’t speak highly enough of Roman from Noir Arts who came to the rescue on making the 2nd KS deck a reality - and the help he received from backers (one of whom was a well connected lawyer).

Edit: the press release (posted above) from the WA Attorney General is also very useful.

The original decks *were* ultimately sent to *some* of the backers. I was one of the lucky backers who got his original pledge plus picked up a couple decks from the Noir Arts reprint. Roman was active on the boards at the time, and I recall sending him one of the three originals I'd had, just so that he could have one for his collection. :)
