I got in my EB pledge. It's good how he showed where the cards are being made and how they'll be delivered.

I'll end up with two bricks and probably no EB, should make up for KS's inability to get it right.

I just realized that I backed the project without bothering to have a look first. I think Lorenzo is one of the creators that first you pledge and then you see what you pledged for. No way to get disappointed!

Now I'll take my time to see what I pledged for.

All the birds has flown by the time I got in. Picked up a half brick, excellent price per deck shipped. Will ad more as it transpires.

You won't be disappointed. It's right there on the page "Mystery unlocked when funded" (140.000 SEK, roughly $17k). Check out the text near the laser etched wood box.

Just over 91% end people on the west coast still aren't off work yet. I think it's safe to say we're all going to see it funded before we hit the bed, and Lorenzo will wake up and find he's already funded.

Time to take the lid off the mystery box!

No, I don't.

It will be fun to be surprised for once! I was in on the "key brick" / Brick XI.

It can only last as long as he sleeps, it will be funded in an hour or two.

The first add-on is an amazing work of art. Not sure about pledging for it or not yet.

A calculated risk. How many of us married or otherwise attached collectors spend who knows how much time refreshing pages on launch days, etc?

The payoff here is that you can show your significant other something other than another deck of cards that turns out to be an awfully good buy, for her?

This is Lorenzo showing off his artwork - other than a deck of cards, and providing us with something that they will actually look forward to? Word has it that bricks make good firestarters, so be careful how you think about this one!

hi guys! sorry if I disappeared for 2 days, but you know where I was lol

About the question of the custom brick. This time I am with USPCC and this means the following:
-zero flexibility, standards only (unless I have unlimited funds)
-very slow communication (one reply after one week, if I am lucky)
-much higher prices for custom boxes, near insanity

I am quite sure there will not be a custom designed brick box, as the one I did with EPCC.
I asked for a custom-printed brick in case the funding goes over the expectations

stay tuned, I just released the sterling silver ace of spades that works as pendant, poker card protector and keychain :) I will take more pictures when in use
cheers
Lorenzo

Lorenzo,

Could I ask you why you choose USPCC "so difficult" printer this time ?

EPCC doesn't fit yours criterias for this project ?

Marketing reason ? (Bicycle ???)

I think Expert PCC decks are great, beyond expectations - but you need to change up your pitches.

I don't know if the alleged "benefits" of EPCC/LPCC are there anymore. They're getting so busy now they aren't that much faster than the USPCC, especially when you calculate the month it takes for the decks to reach U.S. distribution centers even after printing is complete. I haven't seen better pricing for the Taiwanese/Chinese decks, either. The only exception might be Randy Butterfield's Draconian decks. Hell, even the Spirit deck from GW is less expensive than almost all the EPCC/LPCC decks from the past year, and that's with full customization and all the bells and whistles on the tuck box for a USPCC deck.

Isn't it possible to just source the custom brick boxes from some other company that's more economical, and then just load them yourself after you get your decks from the USPCC? I know it could mean possibly more manual labor to do that, but it seems that there aren't really too many brick pledges in any KS campaign, certainly not thousands, or even several hundreds.

There is at least one unbeatable benefit when printing with EPCC: The perfect cutting registration. And also price (for the embellished decks). The reason you don't see lower KS prices for EPCC decks is that the bells and whistles are more often incorporated in the price from the beginning. If you go for a fancy tuck by USPCC, you have to set it as a really high stretch goal, so that you'll have to print at least 5000 decks of the same design to get an affordable price. So a backer who wants that upgrading may have to up their pledge by X times to help make it. That said, when you're offered a fancy EPCC deck @ $13- $15 you can just grab one or two if you only want one or two. But if you're offered a USPC deck @ the same price, you may be forced/tempted to buy 4 or 6 decks to reach the fancy tuck stretch goal.
