Finally, it is memory that I recall it.
You referring to Requiem? That was just a rumor. It's being printed..breast and all.
No, it's older than requiem, last year.
I think it was the surrealscapes deck, uspcc didnt allow for any kind of uspcc notation on the deck itself, although they were ok with the actual printing. I didnt really follow up from there.

Nice preview! I like the style, kinda 70's I might say
anyway, I like it :)

About nudity... Requiem has been approved by the uspcc legal dept. Even if there are a couple of naked breasts. And by the way, nudity is not pornography.
Guys, let´s speak clear. Poker cards are not for kids unless you print Mickey Mouse.

And if some nudity gives you a boner, then the things are 2: Or you have a problem, or the illustration/picture/design is pornographic.

Nudity in art is sooo common, let´s forbid art museums in the world then. Let´s ask Goya and his "La Maya Desnuda"

In France we have a well-known case about pornography and art : "l'origine du monde" by Gustave Courbet (1866). It's a very old (un)resolved (it depends of the times) subject for us ! You can see the painting at Musée d'Orsay.

I let you search on Google the picture and let you go to wikipedia for the story behind this painting...

I had a rather large argument with my wife during our last trip to Paris. She wanted to go to the Louvre, I wanted to go to the Musee d'Orsay. Guess where we didn't go...

I just wish that I'd had that choice to make!

The one time in my life I got to see Paris (on a client's dime, to fix Y2K bugs at their Paris branch), the freakin' French Museum Workers Union was on strike, and the Louvre was closed the entire week I was there! :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Thankfully, the Playing Card Museum in Issy les Moulineaux (around 30 miles south of Paris by Metro) was open (non-union workers, I guess), so I got to spend a day there instead! (goodbye, Mona Lisa, hello, antique playing cards!) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

No, not because of that. She "had to" see the Mona Lisa :( At least they had some nice Titians in that room, so wasn't a total waste

I'm out of the loop here, having no LTD decks.

Are they known for their "racy" tucks?

I think in this case, LTD was simply used as the abbreviation for Limited. So, a Limited Edition deck with an extra racy tuck.

Nope. UUSI is known for their variety of art styles and elegant design and execution.
I'm just hoping that they're all in on going racy, and that they'll one-up the requiem, grotesque, triplicate and independence decks in finding a good reason to wrap the tuck.

I'm seeing Folies Bergère as a design inspiration, and don't want to see any panties ... if you know what I mean.

But no matter what Peter Dunham and Linnea release, I know it will put a smile on my face.

I know what Uusi is known for. I asked what LTD is known for, as the post I quoted was suggesting an LTD-like tuck for Uusi's new "Hotcakes" deck, if I read it correctly.

I vote for a tuck box that looks like a trench coat and you swing it open to reveal the raunchy deck.
Peek-a-boo! xD

Or paper printed in a lace pattern could be interesting.

Hehe, vellum paper with lace print. Nice.

MagikFingerz you were right-on with your reply! I was typing my own response when your answer got posted.

I hear-by nominate LTD to stand for limited as a term of art related to custom decks of playing cards.

Just wanted to clock in and say thanks for the great feedback so far! Love reading the ideas and hilarious train-of-thought on the deck theme, you're ideas on the tuck wrap are pretty right on with some of ours! The sneak peek image we showed is just a hint of whats ahead.

Don't you just love a good controversy? (no way for me to make it sound like it's pronounced con-tre'-ver-see in Britain)

Perhaps the Standard one could censor out the "naughty bits" with black rectangles, the Limited one could have them wearing bikinis, and there could be a Stretch Goal to print some totally in the buff (and with some creative engorging (oops, I mean embossing) on the tuck.)

Just a thought...

I know, I should not have mentioned censoring, sorry!

And, upon further reflection, I should have said "Letch Goal", not "Stretch Goal"! :D

During the early modernist period in art there were fist fights in front of paintings in France. People threw ink at paintings and tried to destroy them with knives.

They're the same way about store displays of processed cheese.

And don't even mention boxed wines there.

We know there has been quite a lot of discussion here whether or not USPCC would have an issue with printing "Hotcakes" - just wanted to let you know that they don't. We have approval from their legal department and should "Hotcakes" get funded it will be printed by USPCC. Schwing!!! They also told us they loved it and hoped we got funded in the first day ;)

Also wanted to give everyone a sneak peek of the King of Hearts and the card back design. We changed the font for the indices as well as we feel it works better with the artwork in the deck.

Talk soon, P&L

I'm going to be very curious to see if the more risqué nature of this deck affects sales. Having said that, I am certain this will fund within the first day. I love how colorful this deck is so far, and color is one of the reasons why Bohemia is one of my favorite decks of all time. The early days of custom playing cards were driven in large part by Ellusionist and Theory11, so we got dark, goth, predominately black decks with way too much skulls and weaponry. Its refreshing to see designers not in the magic industry coming out with bright, vibrant, colorful decks. And it looks like this deck will also have a full bleed back like Pagan, which I also like a lot.
