Are those items free if you choose one of those higher pledges only in the first 24 hours, or will everyone get one who backed this campaign first day, no matter what deck or deck set you selected? I'm hoping at least I can buy those as add-on items. I only backed the cold foil deck.
All backers in first 24hrs get the metal marker. The booster pack is a reward within the higher tiers and is not dependant on eb. I think it will also be an add-on when the goal is reached. Edit: One of the pictures in the add-ons info for the campaign shows the booster pack as being 12$ so that indicates to me that it will be offered in the add-ons.
It's also just a way to make pledging easy. Pledge for the higher tier if you like the extra things like the booster pack. It's the easy button.

Not losing sleep over it, just pointing out what appeared to be an inconsistency. Looking over it again, I think Adam is correct with it being a gift regardless and if goal is met then it will also be an add-on. Thanks for clarification
That is right. I'm producing one for every first day backer. I was pretty confident we would hit the 150% goal, so after the first 24 hours, I'll add it to the Unlocked Add-On list.
Also add the booster pack 😉 and soon to follow 400%

The Green one is the Piper Edition. As a collector myself, I hate it when a creator asks me to spend $500+ at once to get everything in a campaign. So that green one is not going to be released in this campaign so that I can keep the price down for everyone. The red one was an early rendering of an alternate colorway of the Hameln deck. I can neither confirm nor deny that you will see a version of that in this campaign. :D

I'm trying something different with this campaign. I say this in the stretch goal section, but I'll restate it here. If we reach a stretch goal early, I will still release the stretch goal near the target date in the campaign. For example, the booster pack stretch goal was to be released at 200% and Day 8. Well...we obviously got there a lot quicker. So I will still unlock that stretch goal, but probably around Day 5 or 6. Just move it up a little bit. The reason for this is to 1. Keep me from going insane coming up with new things to offer, 2. Keep momentum steady throughout the campaign, and 3. Not be finished with all the planned add-ons after the first 14 days! Plus it makes things more predictable for backers, which I like.

As I am writing this reply, it's at 342% (if I did the math correctly),
That means the Marker and Booster is already available very soon!

Great art and design all around. But I must say these kind of big projects deserve a proper sampling and real photos. I get that it costs some upfront money and not everyone can do it, but it certainly helps with the presentation.

But what can I say, it's already a success. It's just a me problem that I'm not convinced to pull the trigger. More power to the creators! :)

I wholeheartedly agree. Projects that have been renders exclusively have more often than not disappointed me when I ended up receiving the actual decks. I'm a bit nervous because of that.

If the renders are almost real accurate, then I don’t mind about the results in the end.

It’s all about presentation!

Knowing the boxes are B&N and cards are by WJPC and illustrations by Russ and produced by Mr Wonder... I have little to no doubts that these will turn out nice. I am not 100% with my pledge and may cancel it because of how I feel about kickstarter but this campaign is as close to perfect for me as almost any other has been.

The renders are definitely not how the cards would look like in real life, that is very obvious to me, but I'm not doubting the quality of B&N and WJPC. I think I'm still traumatized by Chakravyuh.

I didn't buy into the Chak decks and can't speak to those. I agree that actual pictures are better than renders. Maybe I have too much faith in the people involved idk and honestly even real marketing pics can be deceptive if staged in a certain light and with props or whatever. How come the products often look so grandiose in pictures as opposed to in hand?

Yeah, Chakravyuh was a disappointment for sure. Though that one used metallic ink, which is rarely all that metallic. This one is using foil from a company that has had spectacular results with foil, so I'm confident. I'm backing for the full set for now.

Oh I don't doubt WJPC's foiling, and B&N's tuck quality. But not doing sampling always brings unexpected problems during production, which should've been solved by sampling stage. Just brings that extra level of confidence that the creator already did some of the homework.

I'm still annoyed how Groundskeeper turned out -- the front borders are way too thick and the artworks smaller than the initial Cartamundi samples they did. You'll notice it when fanning that the indices are way too far in than they should be. I guess we can consider that project as one of the "guinea pigs" of the "switch".

Here's a little inside scoop on the campaign pictures. We did a combo of renders and real pictures for this one. When we did Forged, EVERYTHING was a render. When we did Jazz Riff, everything was a picture (because we pre-printed everything). Most of the tuck boxes that you see in this campaign are not renders. Those are actual tuck boxes from B&N. Most of the cards are actual cards but printed by MPC. The foil is simulated. I think you all have recognized that. But you can rest assured, we have done two cold foil decks with WJPC as have many others including Lorenzo's Gold House of Rising Spade Cartomancer edition. Look at that deck and you'll see exactly what the gold cold foil looks like. So, why don't we make sample cold foil decks with WJPC? Because their price for one cold foil deck (just cold foil on one side) is $1000. Yes, for one sample deck and not both sides of the deck it's $1000. Believe me, I tried everything to get some sample decks from WJPC, but their price was firm.

In addition to the photos Chris Moyer took of the cards, tucks, replica marker, etc., Russ Gray made the original renders just like he did for the original Meadowlark, Star Wars, and many others. We also have a sample of the collector box, but I'm having it remade because I don't like the foil I chose. We also have real samples of the Heirloom Legacy (coming soon) and a real sample of the Echoes of Hamlin Deck display.

So, I hope you can see we've tried to do our best to include as many "real" items as feasible to get it as close to the finished product as we can without overdramatizing the images or relying on fancy renders. As a collector, that's what I want to see in a campaign too!

Regarding that booster pack of lenticular cards...that item appears to be free with ONLY a few of the higher tiers.
But if anyone wants to get those, will those be an add-on item? If so, when? I wasn't sure if just the mouse marker was free to everyone who backed in the first 24 hours or the booster pack as well. Sorry to ask so many questions!

To expound further, yes its a repeated line in the show "the Mandalorian" between...well Mandalorians (think Boba Fett, but an entire planet of him). Basically someone will say something has to happen a certain way, "this is the way" and then every Mandalorian in the room will repeat "this is the way"

I have the same reaction to "the greater good"

I believe that these repeated phrases, besides representing a military culture within their fictional universes, have their origin in the 21st century reboot of Battlestar Galactica. So say we all.
