  • Three tin boxes for one deck
Will you cut the deck into thirds for me, or do I have to do it myself? :ugthink:

My Patreon supporters helped me to extend this list tonight. It now includes:
  • Patreon only deck (subscription closed)
  • One metal card
  • One dealer button
  • T-shirts
  • Alternative tuck boxes for KS decks
I have nothing to add here as I explained everything in the update, including six and a half new Kickstarter projects and one better alternative.

I announced it in one of my KS updates.

Ok, let's stop it. :D I always recommend reading KS updates, and yesterday I posted a quote from it, but the reality is a little different. And I don't have a Patreon account.

Full disclosure: it was a clickbait, and I mentioned that it's a joke in my KS update
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clickbait

That list is 100% NONSENSE, but we may need to create a separate topic with a list of all possible add-ons/upgrades for an average KS project. It will be extremely helpful for creators.

Here's what seems real to me from KS
As I told you in my last update, I will respect the NZ$30000 stretch goal and produce one half brick box. ... But wait, my next project will be a Tarot deck. ... I have already signed a contract, and one very talented designer will create all 78 cards for us. Plus a poker deck based on this design. I'll be the producer.

I read maybe 30% of KS updates within a week, maybe 50% within 2-3 weeks, 90% within 1-2 months    I am in the same team!

BTW, some behind-the-scenes of running a KS campaign - each update for a live campaign will cost you money as backers cancel each time you make a post. It's not my statistics only, but a proven fact.

haha I can attest to this as I'm one of those that recently cancelled a couple of KS projects when I received an email alert on the KS project update/post. Primary reason was because I was on the fence and have tight $$ :)

1. I want to produce more decks with borders.
2. Current back designs are all different. But the old red is close to the teal version and my least favorite. I don't like the flower pattern.
3. Next time, I'll create three different back designs with borders for this series, but backs will be more traditional, without a pattern.

That's why that red is not an option. If I wanted the 4th deck, I would have produced a deck with borders and a pattern.

2. BIG news!

I've got some big news to share with you all today. After much deliberation and contemplation, I've decided to make some changes in my design hobby. I have made the decision to shift my focus away from creating custom playing cards and towards designing decks with standard court cards and simple designs. While I have enjoyed creating custom decks in the past, I have come to realize that the process is too complicated and time-consuming for me to continue pursuing.

So, from now on, I'll be sticking to what I really like - designing boxes and back designs, and using standard court cards for my future decks. I believe that this will allow me to be more creative and productive, while still delivering great results.

I understand that some of you may be disappointed with this change, as you have enjoyed my custom designs in the past. You might be thinking, "But wait, we loved your custom designs!" But fear not, my friends. Just because I'll be focusing on more standard and not so time-consuming designs doesn't mean I won't still bring my unique style and flair to everything I create.

However, I feel that it is important to recognize when something is no longer serving you well, and to make changes accordingly. By streamlining my design process and focusing on more straightforward designs, I hope to explore new creative avenues and potentially reach a wider audience.

And who knows? Maybe I'll even throw in a fancy ribbon or two, just to keep things interesting. But let's not get too carried away here. We don't want to break the bank with unnecessary bells and whistles, now do we?

But seriously, I want to thank all of you who have supported me on my design journey so far. I couldn't have done it without your encouragement and feedback. And while I may be taking a more simple approach to my designs, I promise to continue bringing my own unique style and creativity to everything I create.

Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to sharing my new designs with you in the near future.

Sounds great, all in on this. Maybe just take Bicycle standard decks and put them right into your new boxes. You can also recycle the boxes. Turn them inside out and do some crayon coloring on the blank tucks.

True! I am no longer planning to design custom court cards for my decks. Instead, I'll invest my time into creating high-end packaging with expensive boxes and limited gilding options. Most of the collectors never open decks, and magicians prefer standard courts.

I consider using standard courts from USPCC and Cartamundi, or potentially find other good patterns. I am also planning creating more Bicycle decks, as these are a popular among collectors and magicians.

Varius was a custom deck.

I can’t tell if this is an April fools joke about not doing custom courts anymore. Are you being serious?

Using standard patterns can be a more cost-effective option than creating custom designs from scratch, as there are no design or development costs involved. Standard cards are instantly recognizable and familiar to most people. This can make them more appealing and accessible to a wider audience. I'll design backs and boxes as mentioned above and offer more expensive editions for collectors.

I figure either way is fine with me too. Might be an April fools joke, but if a creator wants to use standard faces its their own business, as long as they don’t try hide that fact until you rip open the seal.
