I will second that - and in the case of a breakdown it can take months or even years to really recover depending on the situation.
Whether a lifelong condition or a once in a lifetime falling down, I think we need to be very patient and make sure to keep the door open and without unnecessarily off-putting signage.
It’s tough to have to give everyone the benefit of the doubt when you can be sure some will take advantage of that, but such is the task at hand - you really don’t want to kick a man when he’s down, do you?
Wait till your sure he deserves the kick before you give it, it will be easier to live down.
