Anyway, back on topic, I hate Lortek's stupid stamps because all that means is I have to chase the package down at my post office rather than having them delivered to my front door because a signature is required and I'm not home. Worth it though!
You have to sign because the package is registered, not because of the stamps. If the package is just thrown to your front door, you will just have less stamps on the package (if you find a package at all). You cannot get rid of the Greek stamps! Eheh.
I know, I'm only messing around. Too much agiorgitiko maybe! Hehe

Got my deck today. The registration seems subpar. Anyone else think so?

"seems subpar" - Perhaps the most diplomatically worded critique I've seen on UC in some months ;)

Much more constructive than how I would have said it...

Can you share a picture of what you mean?

The only thing I noticed was the backs are shifted slightly to one side on some cards, but that's nothing compared to some USPCC decks.

Cheers

First, it is really hard for me to notice this, but I did find that on some cards I checked that the index was rather significantly closer on one side than the other. So, for example. on one of my decks the top index 3 of clubs was 5 mm from the edge and the lower index 3 of clubs was 3 mm from the edge. In any event, the difference is rather more than slight. Given Lotrek's amazing ability to align cards for printing multiple time precisely, this does seem surprising.

All that being said, it really doesn't detract from my opinion of the cards as it was really hard for me to notice without careful measurement. Visually, it didn't strike me as being off.

By only applying hot foil to the back side, you did not get any front side impression on the back side of the cards. That said, I did look for any impression of the back of the cards that was noticeable on the front side of the cards. Honestly, it was only a few cards that I could see anything. It was mainly a light impression on the top or bottom line that showed through to the front side. I take that as progress. I am still not a great fan of the "foam" like card stock. At least it is much thinner so it gets to more of a standard thickness.

Overall, I really like this deck. I find it impressive that Lotrek was able to design and manufacture the cards from start to finish in just 25 days. I just hope Lotrek doesn't start doing a deck a month! Otherwise my bank account will [MURRAY] .

What? 2 mm isn’t noticable for you? The Texan needs new glasses :P !

The ability to have an awesome registration is unfortunatly not connected with cutting cards. Both processes work differently and so I wouldn’t say it is surprising if one doesn’t match the quality of the other.

Thanks for the detailed review. I need mine!!! I love the foam stock :D .

Here's a pic. For the record, I have a beef with USPCC registration too.

Oof... that must have been slipped through. I can't imagine that Lotrék would have send this out if he would have noticed.
For the second part, everybody with healthy eyes has beef with USPC registration :D .

i just looked through the deck and i agree registration is a little off. Particularly the 2 of hearts and 2 of clubs on my deck, noticed when looking at the back design

Wow. I don't notice this type of thing usually until someone points it out but that really jumped out at me. Disappointing, I'm sure.

No registration issue with the decks I received today... Along with my long awaited Icons KoS print... Which had some company  (with the same numbers: 1/15)
I needed so badly to show those... :ugdance:

Told you already on IG, but thx a lot Lotrek! Be as late as you want ... Always

Regarding the registration issue, it was something that of course I did notice but it wasn't until (literally) the moment before I started packing the decks.
The problem was in about 50 -60 decks and I scrapped all of them. It came out of nowhere and I still cannot explain it although I have some ideas.
I had to go through all decks again one by one but seems I missed a few.

Princess, I'm sorry it happened to you. Vasta should have been in your place since he is a non- opener!

Of course I will replace your off-centered cards.

I am curious what card this is on. My decks have varied registration with the 2oH being the worst, similar to this.

Interestingly one of the two decks I bought has a much yellower tuck box. Don't know if Lotrek intentionally did that but I like it!

Yup, he mentioned it before the tuck boxes were all wheatered induvidually with water colour technique. So, every tuck box of Chronos is one of a kind regarding the weathering look. If I remember corectly he mentioned that his significant other did this.

Finally received my Chronos today, the tuck feels amazing in the hand. Only a few of the backs are slightly off, but about 1/3 of the faces are slightly off-centre, particularly the diamond pips. I'm not too fussed about it, doing the whole thing inside of a month is crazy, but I do hope whatever the issue was can be identified and fixed for the future or that reputation for accuracy might take a hit.

He's also mentioned they may be available for Black Friday, don't know if that's firm or not.

I like this black player edition better than the white one that was just released recently.

That would certainly be important for those who got the first edition. However, I didn't get the white one so the black having the same.cards wouldn't bother me in this case. If I got the white one and the cards were the same in the black, I probably wouldn't buy it.

I may seriously consider this black one though. The only Lotrek deck I have currently is The Entertainer club deck. A great deck for the price.

Rumor has it: Same stock, same faces but different, shiny gold on the back
Maybe metallic ink instead of foil since, Lotrék mentioned in the The Southern Charmer thread some experiment/new idea that he is doing with metallic inks...

Harvonsgard, I wonder who gave you that info but it's accurate. Yes, shiny foil for the backs.

And all registration issues are fixed, of course! 8-)
