Thank you guys! I'm happy that there are some people interested :)

I will release Odissea Nec Plus Ultra this evening (midnight in Europe, CEST) - I will send a closed update to all Odissea backers, with a link and a password.
It will be like a normal purchase, so you can put as many as you wish in the cart go to checkout.

Let's see how it will go, if it will be sold out too soon, I will release a new batch of decks in a different timezone to allow everyone to get it.
If the sales will be slow, I might do a fast Kickstarter or open sales on my website to everyone - I've never released a new item on my website so far :-)

Thank you in advance for the awesome support!

P.S. A "soft update" on Odissea - I'm waiting digital proofs from USPCC, they're slow because the holidays.
Meanwhile I'm deciding paper and foils for boxes with Gamblers Warehouse. Everything seems good. I hope to have good news soon!

When are your deck sales ever slow? :D

I'll be offline until next day so I hope sales are slow.

Hello UC members! Yes, I confirm that everything was sold out after 5 hours from the launch (I was asleep, 5 AM in Italy).
I will release some (probably 100) Nec Plus Ultra decks in the next days - only for Odissea backers, with same conditions and price.
Wait for the next update!

Of course I am amazed and very happy for the incredible support! Thank you!

Hello UC!

Many asked about Nec Plus Ultra, and now I have a date :)

100 more Nec Plus Ultra decks tomorrow, saturday 14 of July at 10:30 AM in Europe (CEST)
Same price as before, $39 free shipping, Odissea Backers only.

I hope the new hour will be easy for everyone had issues with the previous timing - I hope to give to everyone a fair chance to get it (ideally, I hope all the backers who want a Nec will have the chance to get it).

Limitations:
3 decks per backer max
1 deck if you have already got some NEC on the first wave

Those are the last 100 preorders.
The last ones will be put for sales on my website at retail price when everything is produced & delivered to backers.

More info (and a video of Nec Plus Ultra paper) on this update > https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/th ... ts/2236268" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Link for the video only (for non-backers) > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6tHjAWjn2U" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Of course, thank you for the incredible support!

Hello Andrea! Yes, it should be correct. I will restock in 12 hours from now - it should be 4AM in New York.
The first time it took 5 hours to go sold out - hopefully this time will take more, at least... I hope.

Is the gilded deck the same as 1 of the 3 in the original campaign, or is it a 4th design? Either way, it looks nice, but I'm not a fan of Gambler's gilding.

@TwoPiece - Cards are the same of Mythica, it would be a problem made just 500 decks of a new design.

This is a "real experiment" for me, and that's the main reason of the low number I've produced and sold - I hope that Gambler's Warehouse will do an awesome job and eveything will go well.
If yes, I'll do more gilded editions in future :)

There are other "factories" that offer gilding? So far I think that the only option I have is to gild with Gamblers Warehouse.

Thank you!

USPCC gilds decks, IIRC. The ones that JR has done have all been great (Gambler's may have done Texas - I can't recall). I just know that most of my GW-gilded decks have been very lukewarm from a quality standard. Spirit, Regal, and Alloy were all just 'okay'. Corners were kind of sanded off, paper and gild dust all over cards, and just not delivered to the tucks in clean conditions.

If/once the customer "cleans" the deck up, they look very nice, but it's kinda off-putting that I have to clean the decks myself before they're presentable. I can't fix the uneven corners, though.

All of Alex Chin's gilded decks are also great quality. If GW did his, then maybe they just don't care about the quality of their own gilded decks, and do a good job of gilding other artist's decks.

If I remember well USPCC does not gild decks anymore (not sure at all about that - I just remember well Jackson had issues with USPCC gilding on one of his previous projects).
I've avoided USPCC gilding for this specific reason :)

I can ask Alex if he used some factory who did his decks or if he did those himself (do gilding myself is not an option for me).

I've talked with GW yesterday about gilding - they confirmed it's a manual, complex project, but they'll do their best to make Odissea Nec Plus Ultra awesome.
I hope that they fixed all the issues you're pointing, since Spirit, Regal and Alloy were made some time ago.

Well, can't wait to make those to see how they will turn :-)

JP Games had some of their decks gilded. They use someone else to get this done.
-LUXX V2 Shadow Gold / Silver
-LUXX Palme Red / Blue
-LUXX Elliptica Red /Blue /Green /Purple
-Memento Black/ White

Quote from their site: https://jpgamesltd.co.uk/luxx-gilded-collection" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
"Our Gilt Edge decks have been produced in collaboration with a highly-skilled English craftsman. With an expert eye and a rich history in gilding books, cards and more to an exceptional standard - these decks are amongst the best gilt edge available anywhere in the world (that we have seen). We've compared his work side by side with a USPC deck and we believe the quality and consistency of the finish exceeds it. Due to the fact that the gilding process is partly by hand, the tucks are not cellophane sealed - however each deck comes complete with it's own 'Gilt Edge Collection' belly band.
Gilt Edge decks make an absolutely stunning gift for playing card collectors or those that appreciate the finer things in life! "

Memento gilded:

EndersGame did a great review on the LUXX Gilt Edge Collection here:

The Spirit II gilded decks were also not great. They were delivered in the last year. They did a good job on the Liberty Gold gilded deck, though (and Texas, if they did in fact gild those).*** I'm not sure if artists receive prototypes of gilded decks, but I would guess that if JR received a poor example, he would have rejected the mediocre quality. This leads me to believe that they must not put as much care into their own decks. Hopefully they do your decks justice.

It's a shame if USPCC no longer gilds decks. They seem(ed) to do a consistently great job.

***This could differentiate if they have multiple people involved in the gilding process. I know that at my job, my OCD forces me to pay more attention to details, and the results of my work are more consistent and detail-oriented than my coworkers. It's a shame if GW can't streamline their process and quality to be consistent.

USPCC still offers & has a moq of 144 decks for gilding. I have got their latest quote and rechecked it before posting here.

On the process followed for gilding, check out this thread.

viewtopic.php?f=81&t=11853" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I've compared gilding across both major n relatively unknown players incl. GW. GW & MPC ranks lowest. I have not seen any of the latest decks this year by GW to find out if the quality has improved or not.
