where do you find them in wal-mart. I've never seen decks like that at mine.

Usually in the toy section, there's a little bicycle stand with a bunch of bicycle products, not only cards. If you look closely at my collection, all the decks with translations on them were all bought at Walmart. I always go take a look once in a while, I got lucky a few times :D
And they sell them really cheap, so buying many copies isn't bad at all.

I have purchased a few Bikes at Walmart, and also at Target, for very reasonable prices. They don't carry a huge variety, mostly the ones of most interest to card players rather than collectors and cardistst - Standards (Rider Back), Pinochle, Jumbo Index, etc - and occasionally some of the custom decks they hope will have a broad appeal (I got my Dragon Backs at Target, IIRC).

I got the idea to check Target after learning that the Flirtatious/Bungalow/Rejuvenate/Twilight set of Bikes were originally created to be marketed solely at Target, but were discontinued there after not doing well.

And yes, in both Target and Walmart, the Bikes are in a special display in or near the Toy or Games section of the store.

Those 2 decks are Canadian decks.. that's why they say http://www.bicyclecards.ca" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; on the back

I was at Walmart today, and took these photos ( I live in Canada )

I didn't want the pink deck, but got it any way. Maybe I'll give it to my wife. I like the Heritage Series Nautic back way better, this one looks blurred

Okay, you changed your story on what you plan to do with the pink one, right? Some of us notice things like that, you know...

Here are two decks I recently added to my collection, and one I've had since the 1990s...
==========[ Headings ]==========
Image

==========[ BatailleDeNancy ]==========
Image
A gift from a magician friend, this deck was published by Grimaud in 1977 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Bataille de Nancy (the Battle of Nancy). This deck has courts wearing outfits appropriate to the year of the battle (1477).

Second row: Since the pips on the courts are not custom, I scanned in some pip/number cards as well, to show their custom pips. The second joker and the back of the tuck round out the row.
==========[ JacobsBibleCards_Modern ]==========
Image
Published in 1969 (note the "69" cleverly formed by the monkey tails on the Queen of Hearts) by Lion Playing Cards of Israel,

The courts represent various persons from the Bible.
The Joker is the Serpent wrapped around the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden.
The back includes symbols of the Twelve Tribes of Israel (Judah, Simeon, Levi, Naphtali, Isaacar, Asher, Dan, Zebulun, Gad, Benjamin, Judah, Joseph)

The deck is a 1969 reimagining of the earlier version of the deck, shown below.
==========[ JacobsBibleCards_Original ]==========
Image
Published in 1965, again by Lion Playing Cards of Israel, the deck was designed and drawn by famed Israeli artist Ze'ev Raban of the Bezalel School of the Arts.

The courts are the same Biblical persons as were later used in the 1969 version
The Joker is the demon Asmodai.
The back again includes symbols of the Twelve Tribes of Israel (Judah, Simeon, Levi, Naphtali, Isaacar, Asher, Dan, Zebulun, Gad, Benjamin, Judah, Joseph)

And even THIS deck is a reimagining of an earlier deck, the 1920 deck "Palestine Play-Cards", also designed and drawn by Raban.

That deck (not shown here) contained single-ended versions of these same courts, and had a suit-system using symbols meaningful within Judaic art: Stars of David, Menorahs, Leaves and Pomegranates.

Rather than subject you all to grids-scans from all of my Penuts Miniature decks, here is a scan of all of their boxes:

Image

I believe these were all published by Hallmark Greeting Cards in 1968/69.

All have the same custom courts, with Linus, Lucy and Charlie Brown as the Jacks, Queens and Kings, and with Snoopy as the Joker and on the Aces (as the Word War I Flying Ace, of course!).

No, the "Wrong" deck had Snoopy dressed as a referee.

I did not include it in that post because I don't have the original box.

Congrats on the scoop!

I was going to say that they don't interest me that much, but who am I kidding - they have the Bike logo on the box, so I'm interested! :D

I'm working on a giant deck stitch.. here's 300 of my bikes... all different.

I still have to scan the rest of them. It's a long process.

You can see a MUCH larger version of that pic here:
http://www.closr.it/show/KMJR5sXcn0l" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Then you need to go full screen, let it load, and then you can zoom in

What do you guys think?
