As a Lotrek newbie I’ll consider it a right of passage to have my first delayed deck
Second this! I can see how perfectionist Lotrek can be XD

There actually was one! Chronos Collector's Edition. Sadly, that's still the only one to date. Even the player's ed was slightly delayed due to no fault of Lotrek personally.
CHRONOS:

Another Industry First!

Hi all,

Lotrek is behind some of the most shout after "Industry firsts": From the first deck with hot foil on the back of the cards to "Golden Oath" -the deck printed exclusively with foil and many more.

But time had come for another one, maybe the most amazing of all:

(drum roll...)

A Lotrek deck delivered without delay!

(crowd cheering with tears in their eyes and hugging each other)

It was in late August when I decided to challenge my worst enemy: TIME! The idea was to design a deck from scratch, print it, cut it, pack it and have it ready to present it at the 52Plus Joker Convention.

Which I did!

It sounds incredible but this is the story behind

"CHRONOS" playing cards Collector's Edition

and it took us just 25 days to complete, from the first rough sketches to the finished product.

The deck is printed on double color pearlescent stock, has intricate gold foil on the back of the cards and what makes it really unique is the touch of my partner's hand: Melania Damianou using watercolor and other materials has "aged" all tuck boxes, making them literally unique: Each and every tuck case is different, as if they were discovered in an attic where they had been forgotten for decades.

The Collector's Edition is 220 decks in total, all numbered. Some of them were sold at the 52Plus Joker convention and the rest will be available on

SATURDAY Oct 26 at 10:00am NYC time

through our website

All orders will ship after a week, on the 2nd of November. Really!

Thank you,

OathPlayingCards

Man.... for the second deck of Wake, I think this campaign has the most drama than the first one, no offense
First, one backer that claims Lotrek is simply cutting corners when offering the 9$ Wylenti Edition, and then now another that is sound very smart in handling logistics regarding of the unexpected delays. Chill, people, card collecting is not a matter of life and death. You will not turn to dust if you fail to get the decks on time. Give Lotrek space now as he is trying to figure things out to fix it up. While waiting, do something that kill the time: I don't know, like do other hobbies or spend some time off from playing cards.

I delete this if this becomes unnecessary

I remember that one. It was just too funny. So much so that you just can't fix someone with that insane an opinion. Just quietly back away.

BIG UPDATE
The Tale of the Tempest Dynastinae is in FIX PRODUCTION

These screenshots can tell you how this deck is printed, and this time, Lotrek took a very careful direction not to mess it up again.
1. Printed the design in opaque white ink on top of green stock
9cc23a47251e6ac5e2fa0f5382f848f7_original.jpg

2. Added in the CMYK color on top of the white. After printing, the sheets are left to dry for 2 days, and then apply 2 layers of varnish

This is simply a test run, trying to get the registration correct

Final print run for the colors

3. The hardest part of all - the HOT FOIL

Alas this update sparks joy as the journey is almost over!

I'll admit Dynastinae was the least out of the 7 decks that I was feelin'. We had the opportunity to buy more on backerkit. I'm liking what I see.

Interesting, I liked the tuck the best from Dynastinae. I wasn't feeling treasured or dusk. The cards on Dynastinae well..I will have to reserve judgement but I wasn't feeling them.

Now it's just a waiting game until the packages are packed and shipped to backers!

Lotrek's decks arrived in our Germany fulfillment center where they will be separated and shipped to Texas for North American fulfillment. I would say realistically 2 weeks from now the packages should start to go out.

FINALLY!

If you think you were waiting a long time, This project felt never ending to me. It not only delayed my next KS campaign by 8 months but caused me to take on a tremendous amount of editorial work to make ends meet during the delay. Which of course has had massive ramifications on the youtube channel--which I've been unable to make content for. WHICH in turn will surely mess with the success of the next deck campaign. It's been a nightmare scenario to be honest. I've been ill from the stress.

For those of you who missed out on the Prism deck we will have a couple available so if you're truly interested save your pennies.

The plan is to sell them as part of a brick:

2 of each deck (Treasure & Wylenti deck included) + 1x Dynastinae & 1x Prism

Price TBC

Omar, so sorry to hear how hard on you this journey has been. All of your struggles will be worth it in the end. The creative work you are doing is top notch, and I think you will find that the growing community will support you in spades as you continue to develop your brand, despite the fact that lately you have had less time to dedicate to it than you would have liked. I fell in love with card collecting as a result of this campaign, and discovering your YouTube channel. Not only do I really love your work, I find your dedication to following your passion very inspiring. This challenge will soon pass, and when it does, all your hard work will pay off because everything you are doing is incredible, mostly because you put so much of your own passion into it. What you are doing is so much bigger than cards, or games, or gadgets. The positive energy that you put into your work is infectious. I hope to get to a place where I could say the same thing about myself. Keep on doing your thing!

I worried this would be a thing, what with Lotrek's time-honored tradition of not exactly honoring time. I have never had a problem with it on my end, nor do I think many of his supporters do; let the artist do what he will, we want his fully realized vision in our hands. HOWEVER, when the delays affect the perception of someone else... well that starts to become an issue. I've found that in the aggregate, people tend to generalize negative sleights and equate them, regardless of the degree of severity, ex.: The cards looks nothing like on the campaign page/My package showed up late, those creators are both dicks. I'm worried that new members of the custom card community may see Omar in a negative light and may stay away from future projects because of this. TBH tho, Lotrek's delays are such a well-established meme at this point that I think TGW deserves part of the blame for not adding like 5 months to the expected delivery date lol

That being said, can't wait to get my cards in-hand! 2 of everything except Prism.

As a new collector I already understand Lotrek’s need for perfection will cause probable (potentially long) delays. So anything I’ll back from him I’ll keep that in mind. Also it’s decks of cards. Not life saving medicine. And finally it’s Kickstarter. Expect delays. Just be glad these guys are reputable and not gonna run off with all the money collected. Which also tends to happen every now and then.

TL;DR: delays happen especially around lotrek, new collectors like myself know that with a little bit of checking.

I didn't remember the Prism decks were available on backerkit, only Dynastinae. The Prism was only available with the high tiers.
