Re: Last person to post wins. . . . .
How is that a rational reason to keep calling it those things? "We've done it before" or "it's what we've always done" is not a good reason to keep doing something. By your logic you could refer to syphilis as "French Pox", but it'll only cause confusion. It now has a name/classification widely used by medical professionals and media, so why call it something else?theCapraAegagrus wrote:Except for the fact that it has been called numerous things long-prior to COVID-19 since Day 1? Again, I understand that people are gonna nickname, and I don't seek to police or censor, but for the sake of discussion I see no objectively rational reason to choose to do so in this case.

There's is no objective reason for any naming convention. Your reasoning for referring to it as 1 thing is subjective. You want to appeal to authority? Go ahead.
Claiming that using any other name for the virus is anything other than a P2P subjective basis is asinine and authoritative (without authority or the autonomy to authoritative appeal). It's been called other things for much longer than its scientific name. That's literally the only reason anyone needs.
There are multiple coronaviruses. People like us may know what COVID-19 is. It's not a laymen term, though.
Calling Victor Hedman the Modo Monster or Patrik Laine the Tempere Terror ain't prejudicial or political. That's just where they came from. To their states/authorities - they are just a number.

LOL... a part of me is that actually-it-is-Sars-CoV2-guy. It irks me just as much like when people say HIV-virus.
I've learned to make my peace with this part of me though

Re: Last person to post wins. . . . .
Found this mystery thriller where a magician turns out to be a murderer in the end.
IMDB - 8.7/10
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7060344/
Found the movie too on youtube but it is in an regional Indian language that I do not understand. Still, some of you here will like this climax scene where the antagonist shows his cool cardistry skills.

Re: Last person to post wins. . . . .
The hoarders have lost.
As I ran out of my 1st toilet paper roll on Thursday, I went to the store for other supplies*, and purchased 8 additional TP rolls. My reserve is now at 10. There was also an abundance of my favorite spring water! Picked up 4 cases.
Patience is a virtue.
*I went for new grilled cheese recipes. Anyone have any good ideas? I tried frying with mayo instead of butter, but the mayo doesn't crisp as well and I am NOT going to toast the bread before grilling. I bought ingredients for bacon+tomato grilled cheese, pizza grilled cheese (pepperoni, mozzarella, and tomatoes), and also BBQ roast beef melt.

Probably won't be around much the next couple of weeks due to furlough. It will basically be a 20-day weekend.

Re: Last person to post wins. . . . .
Only in Melbourne, I swear!! Yesterday, I drove to the servo to fill my car up at a better price than normal, I noticed 2 police were watching a woman who was smoking while filling her car up. I thought, is she stupid, crazy, or both, especially with the police standing RIGHT there?!
I minded my own business filled my car up and went inside to pay for the fuel, when I came out I heard someone screaming!! I’m talking violent death screams! I looked over and I saw that this woman's arm was on fire!!!! She was swinging her arm, running around and going nuts!! I ran towards my car , the police had the woman on the ground and they were putting the fire out!! Then they put handcuffs on her and put her in the police car.
I was a bit shocked, couldn't believe they arrested her, surely she ought to be in an ambulance, not a police car?! Me being nosey as I am, I asked the policeman what they were arresting her for.. He looked at me, dead serious, and said, "WAVING A FIRE ARM”!!
Now I want to know who actually read this to the end.. If you did, copy and paste this to see who believes you! Change it to your town and local gas station.

Cool/Tangy: Not great by itself. Amazing on burgers. Better than the Big Mac sauce.
Smokehouse. Again; Not great by itself. Amazing with potato products.
Spicy: Amazing all-around. If used on tacos, it's better than the sauce they put on Cheesy Gordita Crunch.
I won't buy the Smokehouse again. I can see myself getting the Cool/Tangy to put on $1/2 fast-food burgers. I'll keep the Spicy in-stock of my fridge, for sure.
