I voted to ship but my question is how did USPCC change Alex's digital file? Or do they take the white color and create the inking "file", yellow color to printing "file", etc. and print as their own "file"? I don't know. Thanks for any info, Google wasn't.

Yes. I was wondering if a decision had been made.

I guess I'm confused - if we're talking about the decision to ship or not, update #15 says the overwhelming majority said to ship, so he did. Update 16 says that for anyone that did not get a gilded deck their order should've already shipped out. Was there another decision you were waiting on?

I'm confused too- I pledged for the $115 LTD 2 tier but haven't received my decks yet. I didn't think there were any guilded decks in that tier? Just wanted to confirm here before reaching out to Alex.

Erp. No, they aren't. Was thinking of the $115 B1 tier

Alex has outdone himself with that presentation. It's always gorgeous, but damn I'm glad I got both boxes!

So I got these in the mail a few days ago and I was just about to come here and say how beautiful the decks were BUT how disappointed I was in the color changing tucks. When I received my decks I immediately tried to rub my fingers all over the 2 decks but nothing happened- the colors remained the same. So I placed the decks in my basement among my collection and walked away. A few hours later I when downstairs again and noticed that the tucks were different colors! It was then I noticed that the color changing tucks worked AWESOMELY and I figured out what happened. The tucks are obviously heat-sensitive and it was very hot and humid in my mailbox that day so the tucks changed color on their own. After an hour in my basement, they cooled off and now look and work great!

@vasta41 that's pretty much the same as with the National Playing Cards Collectors Day decks. I have to put them near my heater to see the color changing on the box, when you move them away they got back to its original color... Pretty neat!
Can't wait to get these.

Alex is (my opinion) easily the best designer for playing card presentation box sets.

Seasons Legacy Box, Magna Carta Hexaptych, and now these beauties.

And this is on top of being one of the best artists in the business, too.

It's too bad that the one Seven Seas Quadriptych never came to fruition because that's where my appreciation of these presentations began.

Hopefully his next campaign completes the re-imagination of the original Seasons series, to make this a 4-deck set, and to put the Seasons concept to rest.

Um, yes it did:

I proudly own and display the quadriptych in my display cases and get many comments on them from family and friends.

Sorry, I meant the quadriptych in the display box, that was removed from the campaign relaunch.

Haha I'm glad to hear that you like them buddy! Yeah the realm of dynamic inks are something new to people and it's going to take some time to get used to it. I've had more than a few comments recount very similar stories to yours. The best way to describe it is that the ink has to "activate" and get primed and rearin' to go. Then when a higher temperature comes in it will push it into the new color. If the temperature is higher then it will already be in the new color. If the temperature is too low though it will take time to "activate/prime" it before it reaches that tipping point. So the temperature of the room and your hand will dictate both the color of the deck and how easily it will change. If the room or your hand is too cold you'll need to work at it more than if you're in a regular room temperature room in which case it should play like butter.

I actually have a really funny recollection of when I was making these guys at the letterpress shop. We actually had to scrap a FULL batch because the registration was just way off and somehow it got through. So they did the full run again and when they were doing quality control the guy flipped his lid and was about to call the guy AGAIN wondering what the heck was happening since this time the color was off. Turns out the shop that day was 90 degrees so the color was completely saturated in heat. The guy was a hot head (both literally and figuratively that day). :D

On a side note, did anyone actually care about the Apothecary Tales with the KS updates? It's by no means a novel but I tried to make the process of KS updates more fun but wasn't sure if people actually read it or not.

I got the tracking from GW on the 28th for the international orders. When they ship it to the distributor I imagine it takes a week-ish (give or take a few days) for them to pack, ship with transit time to the facility, and facility to sort the packages by countries before they distribute over seas.

Ok, so 2/3 weeks then. Cool.

Edit: got mine today. [5/9] Arrived a week ago, but first chance I've had to pick them up. Better looking than I expected.
