MagikFingerz wrote:I fully support having Kings Wild as the branding, that would be my top pick by far. Good suggestion, Ryan!

Also, while I'm indifferent towards the all-seeing eye, I don't feel like the starry alternative worked very well. And I do feel like removing something that's so traditional on currency "just because it's masonic" is kind of silly.
+1 A consistent Kings Wild branding (i.e. same position and style on all tucks) is a great solution

Anyone can give their opinions in this thread and it really doesn't prove anything, but the numbers don't lie from the sales of the Fed 52 series. That might give an indication of whether to stay with the USPC or not. Personally, I preferred the Bicycle branded Fed52 decks across the board.
I know the unbranded Reserve Notes command much more value on the resale market, but that might just be to being more limited. I prefer, and will always get where I can, non-bike branded decks, but still prefer USPCC as a printer
For the Federal 52 decks, I have all the Bike decks. For the black Reserve Note deck, the Bike brand tuck looks better than the rare unbranded tuck. The unbranded card backs are black and Bike version is not but if they were, people would prefer them more.

I prefer the unbranded, even if the branded had the black backs....

Without the Bike logo it looks unappealing. For the Fed 52 brand, I think the Bike logo make them all look better. Once again, I'm "confused" because if they were released today, I may go for the unbranded.

Someone mentioned this but it's better when a deck has it's own name. The Bike logo can still it's thunder but without it is what makes the deck really unique. To me it's about how the cards look but I do want a nice tuck along with it.

Yeah, it's probably silly......unless you happen to have an objection to a secret society that's vows to disembowel the pregnant wives of those who oppose their agendas. Otherwise, those silly Masons are a hoot. I never realized Neo was a Mason! :o

Let's just say for some bizarre reason, U.S. currency traditionally had "666" tattooed on all the presidents' foreheads, or incorporated a Klu Klux Klan hood in the corners of all our bills, then I don't know if removing satanic or racist imagery, even if it's traditional, would be so silly anymore. Of course, we don't obviously have blatant stuff like that on our money, but that's because Masons are so much more subtle than that (hey, they're a secret society after all), but they're no less sinister.

Ok, let me take off my tin foil hat now. ;) At this point, Jackson could put an image of a toilet bowl on his Legal Tender cards and I would probably still buy it. By the way, if you guys don't see anymore posts from me after today, then you know who got to me and took me out.....

I have no idea what you guys are talking about.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go pick up my black cloak from the dry-cleaners and get ready for a meeting in the catacombs of... uh, I mean, I have a dentist appointment.

Quite frankly, I think the idea of toilet bowls on the backs is fascinating, and I sense (probably smell) another best seller in that idea.

Here is the beginnings of the Chinese currency deck that will also be in the upcoming Legal Tender series.

This is just a work in progress shot, not finished just yet.

That looks awesome, Jackson! But surely the stripey part needs to be in the upper-left/lower right corners, aka the parts visible in fans? Would be a shame if fans only showed the monochrome background.

This is true for you, but since I'm lefty (with the cards, don't know why!!) this will look awesome in my fans!!

Ask him how many decks he has in the compost pile. You know decks that he just did for fun, but they didn't quite make the grade. Most of which were better than the crap on Kickstarter now.

Have to agree with MagikFingerz the rays busting from the core would be better on the top left. Flip the image.

I agree in principle about the fanning and the rays - however the rays on the source note do have a generally up/right orientation which may have informed the card design.

I much prefer the Bicycle branded version (and it's not just because I'm a Bicycle cards fan). I just looks better

Image

Is there a reason why you just wouldn't do both in the same campaign? Charge $2 more for the branded decks

Agree with CBJ, Bicycle tuck looks much better and I would happily pay an extra $2 per deck for the branded tuck.

It's not about the "Bicycle" branding, I don't care too much about that. In fact, I always go for the Unbranded version (the bigger the artwork, the better), but in this case, one vs the other, I like the Bike one better.

I agree that the Bike LOGO looks better than the Legal Tender logo, but I would definitely prefer a Kings Wild logo that is as aesthetically pleasing as the Bike logo.

Right. As much as I like Bike-branding the "Legal Tender" version is not aesthetically pleasing. The non-branded version needs work IMO.

I also prefer the design choices of the Bike tuck, not the Bike branding, but I like the dark background substantially more, even if he used the legal tender title
