Hi all
thank you for the feedback!
Since there will be a version 02 (as I already said, so no surprise), I´d like to get some feedback. The meaning of a pre-series is indeed to spot those issues/problems that can be corrected or eliminated.
I get the point of the classical "layout", with profiles for some courts. Thank you for that feedback.
Feel free to say what you like and what you do not like. I might change many things..
Things I´m already thinking to change/tweak:
- the four suites, i keep them simple and neat.
- the font, I have found a better one
- background, maybe
- back side: I'll do a couple of versions to see what is best
- shades or colors
- custom seal of course
well, let me know what you think
cheers
thank you!

I wouldn't worry about the suits too much. They might not be facing the exact same way that the standard USPCC ones do, but if you take a look at different court cards from different eras and countries they differ. If I were to go with the ones I grew up with I would break a lot of the "rules" of court cards.
I prefer creating the art and then framing it rather than finding a frame and then trying to get the art to fit.

Nope were to be shipped before opening day, but I will probably go ahead and ship pre-sales Monday a week (18th).

Several people have asked if I can't relax the rules just a little for UC members, so they can save on shipping. If you want an extra of either or both CL promotional decks, I will ship all orders I have on the 16th together and refund all but $2 per deck shipping for second orders. Please let me know if you DO order again, because with the number of orders to be packed that day, it won't be obvious, and it's the only way I can be sure to ship all decks (up to four total) at once and in one USPS Small Flat Rate box for the US and by whatever way you paid for with non-domestic orders.

Excellent, Chris! He's a bit ahead of the curve, but the ones won during the opening day or pre-ordered in The Deck Refinery will ship a week from today on Monday, the 17th (well, I hope to ship them all, it depends on how many I have, I guess - right now it's manageable).

ops!
I didn't mean to be so ahead.. it´s because I´m on vacation and I calculated 10 days shipping since I made them available online. At the post-office they told me at least 7 working days.
I don't know why they are so fast lately... maybe from Sweden to the rest of the world is fast. From USA to European countries is quite slow instead.
Bu the way, the intention was to put them online, sell a very small quantity of my limited private reserve, and let them arrive around the 15th.
They were also quite expensive and very limited, but the shipping was included with tracking number, which costs more or less $20 (In Sweden we have swedish crowns - SEK - and they are much more stronger than the USD).
I hope I didnt ruin the surprise
cheers
Lorenzo

Seriously? I did not know about these Kroner thingies. ahahahah
Even today I can take my money and put it in a dansk bank and gain 4% (used to be 5-6% until about 5 years ago) when the US$ bank yield is 0,1%
You're fine, buddy - always. You do as you wish with your special things. Chris is in Britain - well, Isle of Man. Pretty darned close to Sverige. ("svar-ia" for all us "Merikuns)

Now that's just crazy talk, Mike! It's more along the lines of [svuh] as in "sweater" but with a V, [rea] as in "to read" but with an R on the tip of your tongue, and [yeh] as in "yeah" but without the gusto. [svuh-rea-yeh.] That is all for today, class dismissed.

As a fellow scandinavian, I'll have to dispel the "svuh". Although I can certainly understand if that's how it sounds to an English speaker. It's "sveh" (I'd actually use an Æ there, but you wouldn't know what that was
). The rest seems spot on though (rea-yeh).

You've got to remember, I pronounce things like my grandparents did, and they're Danish. Your mileage WILL vary, as always. Just don't try it in Norse. As Tom has noted, even we don't know WTH they are saying.

English speaker? I'm from Sweden so I sure hope you're not referring to me, MagicFingerz!
I'd have to agree about the "svuh" though, It'd probably be closer to the "eh" sound in "vendor". (Using an ä, at least the Swedish ä, would definitely have too heavy a sound to be OK in my ears. Though that's coming from a Swede with some danish blood, so I'd take it with a grain of salt I guess..)
And NOW we're officially off topic. My apologies, Lorenzo!

I guess I have become to 'Merikun-ized? Mom always said "sveh-ryah" or something like that with English-sounding diphthongs. Then again, mum's dansk, not sverige. I guess it all boils down to our "lazy tongue", as we say.
Danish people do funny things with cApItAlIzAtiOnS, like no uppercase for titles and in general anything but proper names. engelsk, dansk, danmark, all acceptable, although even danes tend to Uppercase most names these days.
If I said "Mr. Mike Ratledge" in English, it would be "hr Mikel Ratledge" in dansk, to be proper. No "C", "Q", "W" or "Z" either - try "K" or "S" depending on sound for C, "Kv" for Q, "uu"/'v' for W and "Sj" for Z, as in Sjeland where "Merikuns say "Zeeland". Of course if it's in a surname, like my grandmother's "Wiwi", it's whatever is traditional. The real problem with Danish is that it's so regional it's hard for even someone that knows it to get around the country without a few puzzling looks, because traditional "Queen's" dansk and what's spoken in Kobenhavn and even what the people in the countryside use are all slightly different and even certain words don't interchange well. If I'm in K-station I say "Hej hej" as a farewell. Don't make me tell my story about ice cream again.
Now, as Marcus said - back to Lorenzo...

I shipped a few out last Thursday, but most went out Monday or another 8 tomorrow, and all I have are the single deck orders left. They will all go out by Friday, I hope. Today for some reason PayPal wasn't having it with printing labels with customs forms, so I couldn't do any International and I had to void the one $23.50 label I tried to print for the Isle of Man.
I'll be sending all the overseas packages "Priority International (air) Mail" and the ones already shipped all are as well, Canada also. I think I have two single decks left to Canada.
There were a few reported 'sightings' last week from a group of 5 people that Lorenzo asked me to send the deck for review, including Magic Orthodoxy, FrenchFreyNecromancer, VJose32, Ashley Acton (the 'Cardists'), Phil daCosta and Sparkz for promotional purposes. Seems like I am leaving out one from that list, I'm sure I'll get reminded.

Just a note that I finally caught up shipping (printing labels for Tuesday shipping, anyway) today, so Donna & I will be packing another 37 packages for delivery to the Postal Service on Tuesday - it's closed this Monday because of the Labor Day Holiday here in the states.
I caught up ALL of those that were overseas that I couldn't print last week, as well as all promotional decks won on CL and everything purchased until this Tuesday, the 26th. That still leave us 47 more mostly pairs boxes to pack, label and ship that were bought this week, and I'll try to get as many of those done as I can tomorrow and Monday and take a couple of big postal 'trays' back to them all filled up with Small Flat Rate Priority and International Priority Mail.
Note that no matter what you paid for shipping to Canada or overseas, I shipped them all with International Priority Mail (formerly called "IPA" for 'air' - all foreign mail is shipped by air these days) - even if you chose the 'economy' shipping method. Some of those are up to $10 more than I asked for, but - it's all good! At this point I think there is about 35 pairs left, and 1 more individual Scarlet Pear deck, those are sold out except for the 1 and those pairs remaining. I think there are about 150 of Lorenzo's Deck Nr17 individual decks left as well.
Thanks for your patience, guys and gals! They should all be headed you way if they weren't shipped last Monday (originally scheduled date) or Thursday.

'Bama - I was pretty certain that yours was in the group I had already done, you didn't get a tracking #"? (looked it up) You should have gotten it around the 30th: I show # 9405909699939195688619 but curiously the last entry shows it was leaving the Charleston regional sorting center yesterday, but for Priority Mail it's not unusual for the next thing to show up is "Out for Delivery" which even worst case should be tomorrow. Since it was a federal holiday Monday, even if things moved it they wouldn't show it because somebody might think they worked.
Yes. Because everybody placed their orders through "DeckRefinery.com", even though it doesn't ask you for your user name, it captures it automatically, and of course your e-mail address is 'tied' to your PayPal account. Donna and I wrapped ourselves out of bubble wrap Monday, but I had fortunately went to grab that "last" 150' roll of it Thursday afternoon and realized I had already gotten the last one out, and ordered two more rolls, and it showed up this morning as "Out for Delivery" on UPS. Even if they miss today, it will be there tomorrow if I have to go pick it up from their depot.
As we print shipping labels you get an e-mail sent automatically that includes your tracking #, and even if we have to get our assembly line back running like we did both Sunday and Monday - we'll get at least another 25 in the mail Friday for Tuesday delivery (well, if it's domestic - overseas is quoted as 3-6 business days for Canada and 6-18 for overseas, but that's not allowing anything for customs inspection - if you're the lucky one getting picked this week. Everything (no matter how you ordered) is shipping out International Priority so it will get there before it would have if we had used 'standard' as opposed to 'express'.

Hi guys,
Apologies if this might have been asked before and I didn't notice:
Who might we expect the email to be from regarding shipping? I ask this because I have a random tracking number from stamps.com originating from Arlington. But I have probably close to 10 packages dispatched to me (thanks Kickstarter for draining my wallet) and its hard to keep track of who sent what haha.

I received my decks a couple weeks ago but I didn't get a shipping notice either Mike. The only reason I knew it was on its way was because you gave me a timeline for when my decks would be shipping out.

That's odd, really. Maybe went into "Junk Mail" folder? I don't know anything else that makes sense, because everybody automatically gets an email when I print postage - at least from the PayPal side because it does it automatically and always has and uses the email that is on your PP account. On the usps.com site, it's optional and of course you have to know the e-mail address which is why it's optional on their site.

All of them except for the ones sold since last Tuesday were shipped this Tuesday, but almost all of the overseas decks were already mailed either Tuesday or Thursday last week.
The bubble wrap (300 square feet) I needed to finish came today. I intend to catch up completely this weekend. The ones sent overseas almost all were shipped Tuesday a week ago. Maybe I am wrong? I thought for certain that PayPal always sent the tracking number for all shipping labels if it knows the email address, and it is not an option. I thought it was automatic. A lot of people have told me that they did get a message. Strag, let me go look yours up. I remember having yours.
